Marriott Bonus Bucks

Which forum or thread can I use to post a Rennaisance Bonus Bucks for sale? Expires in May, 2011. I have been quite disenchanted with Marriott properties lately

1. Selling your certificate is against FlyerTalk rules.

2. You are allowed to give it away or trade it for similar stuff (assuming the items being traded are transferable per their own T&Cs) in a special forum to which you do not have access as a new member.

Bump. I thought BB's were good for any Marriott?

I believe the forum is called 'Coupon Connection' and you have to have 90 posts and 90 days since account activation to get access to it.

I am still hoping to get my first taste of it :-)

there are some limited to full service hotels or select service-extended stay hotels others are open to all except luxury brands (Ritz-Cartlon and Bulgarvi)

Ever since they started giving out BB, EE and PP's, the $100 US BB were only for the FS hotels. The $50 ones were for the 2nd tier hotels.

So, if you stayed in a FS marriott and got a bonus buck, it was for another FS marriott. It's always worked like this.

depending on amount of the BB they are restricted to certain "types" of properties. $100 + requires a 2nt stay at a FS property. Also can be used on publicly listed rates, which shouldn't be an issue to not get ur AAA or corp rate or whatever discount you're use to. You did afterall receive this coupon as a promo and not by purchasing it for $100. This is free money, I don't understand why people complain about free money. Sorry to be rude since I'm a new poster but paying the extra $20 a night without your normal discount and yet you're getting basically $80 out of it. Sorry if I've offended anyone just think on some things people EXPECT whatever they want or however they want to understand the T&C's. These are rules and shouldn't be changed cause you're a PP or non member. If they made exception for every single thing people whine about, Marriott would go out of business.

While it used to be the case that $50 Bonus Bucks were for the non-FS and $100 were for FS, there are some exceptions beginning to be made:

- About a year ago I got a $50 BB that was good at non-FS properties such as Fairfields, Courtyards, etc., but was also good at Marriott and Renaissance.

- Just recently a friend got a $50 BB that was good only at Renaissance.

The times, they are a-changing?

I didn't know what thread to post this on, but can Bonus Bucks be used on LNF rates or on Marriott Rewards Exclusive Rates? Thanks.

As I'm planning on using mine on a LNF rate, I read the conditions carefully, and the only notable restriction I found that I don't think has already been mentioned here is that they are not valid on rates that require a membership. I did not see anything that would indicate an exclusion for LNF rates, but your MR exclusive rate might be excluded under the 'membership' exclusion.

Thank you, but I thought it meant membership as in AAA, Government, etc. As if you get one, you're obviously a Marriott Rewards member, but Marriott likes to pull stunts like that.

Call MR and tell them to add a note to your reservation re: BB use. This makes it a lot easier when you show up at the hotel.

First, welcome to FT. Second, your response was like hitting an ant w/ a hammer. The OP asked a legitimate question & wasn't complaining, so really your response should have been left to your first sentence IMO. And I'm pretty certain Marriott won't be going out of business anytime soon ;) :D

Cheers. Sharon

Bonus Bucks -- credit for nights

Sorry if this a repeat question. Searched the forum but did not find an answer.

When you use Bonus Bucks for a two-night stay do you receive credit for the the two-night against your nights per year count?

Saw in the forum that you are supposed to receive the full amount points for your two-night stay, so if that's the case, I would assume you would get two nights credit also, but wanted to be sure. Thanks very much for any help.
