Can I use BB/PP for a family package offered by an international Hotel directly?
My sister booked a family package directly offered by a Marriott hotel in China, she called the hotel reservation desk/department, and is offered such a family package (Rountrip airport trnasfer, breakfast, dining coupons)
but is also told that she can't use BBs/PPs This family package is a public one that anyone can call the hotel to book it but they say no BBs and PPs Based on BB and PP's T & Cs , I could not find any reasonable that coupon can not be accepted, since this is a hotel public package that anyone can book without ID or membership, also book with marriott directly Does anyone have such experiience? what my sister can do? Thx |
huh ? I'm only a Platinum
BB = Base on Balls
PP = Daddy I have to go potty TC = Tour Conductor If this is understanding of these abbreviations, then yes, I have experience I can share with your sister |
you have the the similar experience? what is the result? somewhere to call to verify? thanks

I suspect the problem may be from the fact that the rate is a "package" rate. I would guess that Marriott has built-in discounts on those packages and thus they may be excluded. I don't have a BB(Bonus Buck)/PP(Premium Pound) cert in front of me, so I can't look at the rules (T&Cs). But if you look at them closely, see if they exclude packages or rates that include more than just a room.
Of course it could be just poor training of the personnel at the hotel. It might be worth a call to Customer Service (CS) and ask them. I've had issues with some Marriott hotel employees in China with their not really understanding what some of the rules Marriott has in place are. I was able to use a BB last year at the Wuhan Ren, but only after I got a manager involved. He knew what they were and how to use them. The lady at the front desk did not. |
I have a plain vanilla £100 Premium Pounds coupon here in front of me and no. 9 on the list of Terms & Conditions states:-
This coupon is not valid towards any rate that requires ID or membership. This coupon is valid only toward publicly listed rates through the 800 numbers listed. Excludes advance purchase, catering, group, associate rate and other contract rates. This coupon cannot be used in conjunction with any other certificates, Marriott prepaid cards and Cheques or reservations made using a travel agency. I can't see why you would not be able to use it on the package rate you mention, especially if it can be booked via the website or Reservations line. |
Yes, I had no problem to use the coupon for the same package at that china Marriott last year ( package offered between July and Oct) this year that hotel starts to offer the package between March and Oct), my siste was told that they received a notice ( from Marriott headquarter, which I really doubt), they will not accpet coupons for the package, but room only
And they worry they may not get money back from the Marriott Accounting dept. |
based on the T & C
I really could not figure out why can not use BBs for the package that is offered directly by the hotel |
Why not make the reservation EXACTLY as it tells you to on the BB/PP coupon? That way, there can be no come-back.
|
that family package is not available yet through 800 number, at this time it needs to book with that marriott hotel's own reservation departmet
same as last year, that package was offered between July 1st and Oct 31st It become available at 800 number after July 19th due to the delay of the e-advertisement is not ready to be published |
I can call 800# because I am in US, but oversea people or if you go aboard, are not able to call 800 #, most of time they need to call the hotel directly.
Not easy as in US, you can have a lot of choices to book |

Received 3/04 They swear they sent out a THIRD set of coupons today. And that was only after I called/emailed again. I am on a first name basis with at least 3 people in the Geico Privileges office. |
I'm in the same boat as Flyerwife. I've called twice & they said they've mailed twice.
I'm going to file a complaint with my CC company & the BBB.:td: It'll only be ebay in the future for me. |

I'm going to file a complaint with my CC company & the BBB.:td: It'll only be ebay in the future for me. I've been in contact with the supposed supervisor of the department handling these certs. She assured me that they'd be sent out today via UPS and sent an email with a tracking # this afternoon. If you'd like, PM me and I'll give you her name and extension. The only reason I didn't dispute the charges with my CC co. is because I'd really like the certs. |
