Best Marriott to use for Travel Package?
Desired destination and time of year would help guide my affirmative hotel recommendations for you. Some properties I would list as don't pick would be the JW Marriott in Chicago and the JW Marriott in Palm Desert CA. I would recommend the Marriott Marquis in San Diego and the JW Marriott in San Antonio. Both of these resorts had great on site amenities with great pools and good dining, and were near family friendly activities. This may not be your criteria, so tell us what you are looking for...

since Marriott offers Cat 1-8 as well as RC Tier 1-5 in 3700 props all over the world, if you would advise preference of US/Can, Europe, Asia, etc., by a beach, in a city, in the jungle..........that might help .................

I have 311,000 points so far and stay in a Marriott weekly. I would like to book a travel package to use Oct. 16-23 for a fun relaxing celebration with my best friend. Recommendations on the best Marriott to go to?

Cayman would be nice if you want somewhere nearby.

Take a look at the travel packages that are available for 310,000 points:
http://www.marriott.com/rewards/usepoints/morepack.mi For example, 310,000 points will give you 7 Nights at a Category 7 property plus 100,000 miles on Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, US Airways, or a number of other carriers. You don't have to use the airline points for the same vacation as the hotel/resort part. There are a bunch of nice Category 7 properties under the Marriott, Renaissance, Autograph Collection, JW Marriott, and Marriott Vacation Club brands. Consider, for example, the JW Marriott Ihilani Ko Olina Resort & Spa, if you're looking for a beach. However, using airlines points to Hawaii can be tricky, because many people try to book the limited inventory 330 days before travel. |

Upgrade to all inclusive after point / travel package reservation
So I know they have done away with the all inclusive point packages.. My question is, has anyone had luck booking a stay with points or a travel package, and then paid additional for all inclusive benefits?
Looking at CasaMagna in Cancun, which does have an all inclusive available.. Thanks for any insight. |

Yeah I noticed it was slightly harder to find as well. So if you lose the link above, from Marriott.com:
Marriott Rewards-->Use Marriott Rewards Points-->Travel & Unwind (I think there used to be a link under this but now you have to click on it first) |
Marriott travel package: book a trip, get the miles credited and cancel?
I apologize if that has been answered before, but I couldn't find a topic with an answer to my question.
This is regarding the Marriott Travel Package: http://www.marriott.com/rewards/usepoints/morepack.mi If I understand correctly, I can reserve 7-nights for a hotel and also get miles with a 1:1 ratio. What happens if you redeem a certificate for those 7-nights, get the miles credited and then cancel the certificate (if that can be cancelled)? Is the certificate tied to 1 specific hotel and it can just be redeemed against any Marriott for the selected category? Thank you! |
yes, this question HAS been asked/answered several times.............that's what the search function is for.............. that being said, the cert is issued against a set Cat, NOT against a specific hotel.............. once you use the cert you can CXL the res and use the cert for another same/less Cat........if you do not use the cert w/i its expiration period limited folks report they are (slightly) extendable............if you're thinking of CXLing the cert and getting points back, VERY limited recovery............
