Lifetime points are missing from the profile section of the website and show as 0 in the Marriott mobile app. However, you may be able to use the work-around referenced in this blog post to see your current Lifetime Points.

You can still view your lifetime points online with the following steps:
  1. Go to www.marriott.com and login
  2. Go to https://www.marriott.com/rewards/rewards-program.mi
  3. Click "Nights"
See screenshot of what to click.

If you call Marriott they can also tell you your lifetime points balance.

http://www.marriott.com/marriott/rew...te-benefits.mi As of 20 May, this process does not work. There is no link called "Night Detail" on this page.

To check lifetime balances: (HT to txpenny)
1. Click "Night Detail".
2. Click "Learn More" (under the night total)
3. Click "Marriott Rewards Overview". At this point you're probably no longer logged in (because you've been thrown to an older version of the Marriott website), so log in again.
4. Click "Nights" under your current year's nights. -> The detail you're expecting showing LT nights and points will show up like before.

Lifetime Silver Elite:
250 qualified nights
1.2 million points

Lifetime Gold Elite
500 qualified nights
1.6 million points

Lifetime Platinum Elite
750 qualified nights
2.0 million points

To check your point and night balance, log into your account and click My Account > Account Overview > Nights.

"Elite Lifetime Status is determined by your total qualified nights stayed and points earned throughout the course of your membership – including your paid nights, Elite rollover nights, meeting nights and the nights and points earned on your Marriott Rewards Credit Card."

Points used by members to buyback their previously attained Elite level will be permanently deducted from their Lifetime point balance.

If an elite's point level drops below that required for the level attained, they will drop down to the next Lifetime level until points are accumulated to get them back to the next level.

Lifetime points in addition to nights now display on your Marriott Rewards account. When logged in, click on "Nights" (the blue link below the number representing your current year nights). You'll see the detail of what comprises your current year nights as well as your Lifetime Status nights.

I just realized I never PMd to get this corrected, but I can't find the thread where he said this. Can anyone find/post a link to it?
Yes, that was done once, with the first rollover year. However, they manually addressed it back then, and if you are trying to get that promise from a few years ago, I would expect you to be out of luck.

Or you could actually start staying at Marriott to start enjoying the benefits of silver and then quickly gold ... and any spend at Marriott generates 5x the points.

PS = Yes, why would you want top status with a hotel chain if you are never staying with them? And if you do start staying with them after getting the 75 night credit and thus platinum, the 2M points would be easier to achieve.

Same here.

Yes they do. I speak from personal experience....and it's specifically called out on Marriott's website.

I think we've clearly established that I was wrong about this. I was going off what Marriott reps stated on the Marriott Rewards Insider site.

Beginning of the year, I was at:
650 nights / 1 million points (I stay at cheap hotels, lol)

Now I'm (as of today) at:
730 nights / 1.3 million points

Looks like I manage to qualify for lifetime Silver.
Anyone know how long after you qualify do they mail the packet?

Thanks

They don't send you a lifetime card until you fall below that status. So even if you are lifetime silver as long as you keep making gold or platinum you will never receive a lifetime status card.

What? That's crazy. You mean to say that if you reach LT plat you only get a card when you are downgraded to LT gold? Makes no sense to me.

No, what nissan720 said was that you will not receive a card for your LT status as long you qualify for a higher status year-by-year. E.g., if you have met the requirements for LT Silver as well as current-year Gold, you will get a Gold card. Marriott will send you a LT Silver card the first time you fail to qualify for Silver in the current program year. Basically, they send you the LT card when it's an upgrade from what you've otherwise earned.

Plat may be handled differently. I had consistently been Plat for several years when I hit LTP. Despite being a current Plat at the time, Marriott did send a LTP card when I hit the required number of stays and points, which both happened within a very short period, perhaps within a couple weeks of one another.

There would be no point sending LTS or LTG when someone is still active and currently at that level anyway, but LTP is different, in that it's the end of that line, so while the card is sent when hitting LTP, it probably isn't for the other two levels.

That makes sense to me.

Cheers.

Congrats and welcome to an elite group. My card arrived about a month after reaching LTP.

I don't understand why Marriott doesn't display lifetime points. I'm closing in on LT Plat...perhaps one year's worth of normal stay activity away...and I *think* I'm well over 2 million LT points but don't really know.

I realize one can phone Marriott and ask them to find out for you, but that seems like vast overkill in 2014. This should be viewable on the site and mobile app.

Of course, if I can't find it any other way when I'm down to the final few nights before I qualify on nights, I'll have no choice but to call. Just seems silly...
