That's odd. I'm at month 2 of my 6 months with the SPG card and I've made 5200 in purchases and 500 in returns so I assume I should be at 4700 in spending but I just noticed my "earned points" ticker just went up 15,000 points today so I'm assuming it should post to SPG in a day or two.
Does Amex not count returns against the spending count? EDIT: Just posted to SPG. |

What is the current time frame for points earned on the SPG AMEX to post to the SPG account. My statement closed on 1/29 and the points still haven't posted. I thought it was a few days at most.

Days after you hit the spend line. Can happen even between statements.
At least in my experience. |

My regular points post within 2-3 days, including this period with a close on 1/20.

Following up, the points for my 1/29 statement showed up 2/5 (although they were dated 2/4, so maybe late on the 4th?). Seems like longer than usual.
I put an email into SPG, don't know if that did anything but there ya go. |
Is there a HP for CL increase?
No I didn't read this whole thread, but I did check out the wiki, and read quite a number of pages back, and didn't find anything about this. If there is another thread that would be better to post this on, please let me know.
When I applied for second SPG last May, under the mistaken idea I would get a sign up bonus because it was "between rule changes", despite a very long excellent history with AMEX, they only gave me a $2K CL. Probably because I followed some mistaken advice from another AMEX thread and applied for 3 AMEX cards at once. They gave me all 3 cards, but with a low CL on each one, and no sign up bonuses on the two of them I'd had in the past. Since then, I haven't really used the SPG at all. But now with 3 RBs to feed, I'd like to start putting some serious spend on it. Having a mere $2K limit is really limiting my ability to do that. I've read that AMEX really frowns on spending up to your CL, paying it off mid-billing period, and then spending up to it again. I'm pretty sure they would be willing to up my CL, since they recently targeted my for an upgrade from their targeted pre-approved offer Bus Gold, to a targeted pre-approved Bus Plat. But I've got some hefty AoRs planned, and I don't want to get an HP just to raise the CL on the SPG. Anyone know if they would do a HP, because I have 5 cards with AMEX, so they certainly know my payment history with them. I have $10,100 CL on my AMEX HH card, which is way more than I need. Would they move some of that without needing a HP? Would they maybe just do a soft pull? Any advice would be appreciated. |

Amex uses soft pulls for CLIs. If you haven't requested a CLI in six months (for all cards,) you may request a 3x CLI on one card. So for your $2K card, you're requesting a total line of $6K. If you're denied, you may make another request in 90 days. If approved, you may request another CLI in six months. So you have the potential to be at $6K today, and at $18K in six months.

^ Excellent. Thanks for the quick and wonderful response. I don't think I've ever requested a CLI from AMEX, since up until last May they always gave me more CL than I could use. So I'm good to go. :)

I'm a first time poster regarding SPG.
I'm trying to understand the restrictions on churning these SPG AMEX cards (personal and/or business). I currently have a SPG AMEX Business card. It's been over a year since I closed my SPG AMEX Personal card. My question is this: When can apply for another SPG Personal card to earn the "Bonus" 25000 SPG points? Thanks! |

Thanks guys.
Shall I assume "One bonus per personal card per person" also applies to SPG Business cards? |
