Gold status earned through credit card spend does not reduce the requirements for Platinum.

As a Card Member, receive credit for 5 nights and 2 stays each year toward SPG Elite status. That's just 20 nights away for SPG Gold status and 45 nights away for SPG Platinum status in a calendar year.

Any new promo's going on with Amex? Just curious about a post to my SPG account I wasn't expecting. No complaints... Will gladly accept the points...

What is the description?

Just got a postal mail offer for a lower interest rate (3.99%) on my SPG card for twelve months. I don't keep balances on credit cards, but I'm wondering what effect accepting vs. declining would have on my file/credit profile?

If I apply for the personal card and get approved this month, will the 5 night credit apply in time for this year? How long does it typically take?

Have the business card but need 5 more nights to hit 75.

EDIT: found this from last year, hope it's still valid

It usually takes a week for the 5 nights to be credited to your account.

when do the 10k points after first purchase actually post? i'm seeing conflicting reports of 8-12 weeks from amex and users on here reporting it posts after only a few days

Hi invalyd,

According to the Terms and Conditions, bonus Starpoints will be posted in your Starwood Preferred Guest account 8-12 weeks after the first purchase.

Wonder when the next 30,000 point bonus will be. I'm gonna sign up then.

Oh ans Starwood Lurker IV, please pass on to your bosses (again) that I would make this my MAIN card for many things if they just eliminated the foreign transaction fee. Cheers.

Typically this offer appears only once per year, and it was offered a few months back. Be aware that if you have previously held a personal SPG credit card you are not eligible to earn another new account bonus. (The rule is different for the business version.)

Business card bonus clarification.

Is it eligible for bonus 1 year after

1)last business application date
2) last business bonus received
3)last business card closed

+1 on the foreign transaction fees. I use the Marriott no fx card for international travel, would be happy to up my SPG loyalty if the fx fee was nixed.
