so I am trying to use NPR and get an awesome rate ... but it reads: prepare to show proper ID. I have no idea what this might be and the rate lists nothing else. Any idea if this might be a problem and how to find out which rate this corresponds to?

You can call the hotel or MR to find out more about the rate and what ID would be required.

Very often -- not always, but often -- the NPR code brings up Entertainment card rates. I got one a couple of days ago at Newark Airport Marriott for $79. Had to show my Entertainment card, too, somewhat surprisingly (but perfectly appropriate).

I had a situation where the ENT rate would save me about $40 per night on a five night stay over the next lowest rate I could find. I also knew about the card and the request for it at the property I was staying.

Here is how I mitigated the Entertainment card risk when I didn't have one besides the obvious (have a back up res which of course I did); I tried to check in without the card and when requested I said that I lost the card but could print it out online (membership) and they allowed me to use the biz center to do that; I just signed up right there and it was no problem; I had checked into this prior to leaving so I knew it was doable; I knew the book had one usefull coupon (5% AA) anyway and it was just a way to reduce the risk of having to have a card requested at check in.

That would be fine, the rates goes down from $239 to $130

* We've stated a # of times throughout the thread that this is the case. And sometimes even at the same property at dif times of the year.

* That's what I did (and do). One time at LHR Ren LPR brought up a rate that said corp id required. It didn't say what corp, so I called the Plat line & asked. They checked. Said it didn't say any particular corp; just bring a biz card. I did, but it wasn't asked for (I had a AAA ressie as a back-up). Turns out that was a weekend rate that that particular property ran for a long time. Other times that rate had no id required, and sometimes a particular id. So yup - it varies.

Cheers.

USIrritated posted this in the exec lounges open on weekends thread, and I didn't want it to get lost since that thread is specific to lounges being open, which the rest of his post was about.

Las Vegas Renaissance:

"This hotel is still offering "Escape Your Way Package," which is THIRD NIGHT FREE, adjusted at checkout, but in order to get this promo, rez must be made through Plat rez line, telephone rez code "NDLX." I do not know whether this package is an EEO benefit only, or available to any guest staying 3 nights or more."

Sharon's note: I called the Platinum line. The above promo isn't available (or at least on dates I gave for Las Ren; might be available on dif dates). There is another one that's Ren specific - the free companion air ticket & $50 Ren $$. And a few others - like credit at Envy, plus free valet parking, which is LAS Ren property specific.

When I asked her about the Escape Your Way package being elite only, she said as far as she knew that wasn't specific to Platinums. So people might be able to use it at this property or other properties where it is available. Can't hurt to ask; no guarantee on when or where it's available.

Cheers.

Got the same rate at EWR using the NPR code. Signed up for Entertainment membership just to be sure. At check-in, the agent had no idea what the rate was, she even asked her colleague, but when he didn't know, she didn't investigate further. Points already posted for the stay.

At this time there is no such rate built in MARSHA

Please note that I was not the one mentioning the rate, but merely reporting what someone else posted they used last weekend & that it 'might' still be available. His question was whether the Escape Your Way package was only for elites when it (in whatever flavor the promo is) is available.

The Platinum line indicated, when I called to ask, that they thought it was a publicly available package rate & not elite only, hence my posting it in this thread.

As we all know, rates & packages come & go. Presumably the person who used it last week for a stay booked it when it was available. But it doesn't hurt to have the code out there, if by chance, it becomes available again & is indeed a publicly available code.

Cheers.

I know Sharon but the quote included a specific rate plan, that rate plan isn't currently active

And presumably it was when he booked it, otherwise I doubt he would have posted. If you don't believe him, you can take it up w/ him via PM.

And again, I did say that promos come & go, and what's bookable at one time might not be at another, and that even the 'flavor' of the promo can change. But like w/ all publicly available codes, doesn't hurt to have it on the list & people can check when they're going through codes in the future to see if it's active. If so they can decide if it's better than other codes. If it's not, they can look for others that are.

I think that basically covers it all, and we can move on. ;)

Cheers.

Not saying I dont believe him......what is interesting though is if there are active GNR's a rate program can't be deleted, so while it was active when he posted it it appears as though the promotion didn't go over very well if there are no future GNR's

Not ours to question why Marriott adds codes/promos or inactivates them, or when they do so. Ours just to utilize them when available. :)

USI's was valid when he booked it or he wouldn't have been able to book it. He offered it up post-stay - saying up front that he thought it still was available but wasn't sure if it was only for elites or not. Turns out currently it's not available. (shrug). But it doesn't stretch the imagination to think that a promo called "Escape Your Way" won't be available again. (shrug again).

And you can't say w/ 100% certainty that Marriott won't activate that code/promo in the future - unless you're in charge of all promos for Marriott, which as far as I know you're not.

Speculating on why codes are valid/invalid is irrelevant to the thread topic, which is - list of publically available codes. Do you have a code to post to this thread? If so, please do.

I appreciate USI offering up one more to the thread. Perhaps it will be available again at some point/perhaps not, but doesn't hurt to have the code on the list just in case. We wouldn't know about it to ask otherwise if he hadn't posted. So thanks to him for offering it up.

And given multiple FTers have mentioned that not all codes are valid at all times, I think we've sorted that & are good to go. I'm just sayin...

Cheers.

Anyone know codes that are specific to Asia Marriott hotels?

What does XML stand for?
