Actually this thread reminded me I actually have the entertainment card. Forgot I had it! Thanks! Cheers.

VSA - is it public now?
I got a nice rate with VSA - is this a public rate these days? Can it be used for LNF?

As always, check the rate rules re: public. If it says you need id, then it's not public. If it doesn't, then it is - or that's my interpretation of it, especially since Marriott has Visa promos.
Cheers. does that count :p |
Got an LPR rate at Courtyard San Diego Downtown for $50 per night. Rack rate is $150-225 so it is a bit alarming.
Rate rules: The Comeback, includes wired high-speed internet, Future Free Night certificate, see Rate Rules. I Google searched for "The Comeback" rate and found no reason that I can't use the rate. |

If you can't produce the cert at check-in be prepare to pay the rack rate
I was reading that I receive a future night cert at the end of my stay. I may call the hotel directly to get clarification. I have a few months. |

I tried checking but didn't know what dates you were trying & it won't pull up LPR w/o a date. FWIW - I don't agree w/ socrates, but that's just based on the wording. And again, most normal folks go by wording. When I read it 'includes' free high-speed i-net and a 'future' free stay cert, that's what I would expect the rate to include: free internet during my stay plus a future free stay cert - unless it said something different in the rate rules. Having said that, the rate does seem low so I'd contact the property directly. While some of us think it's really low, Marriott properties have been known to do great promos, so one never knows. Cheers. |
Called 800 reservations who called the property and the agent said it was a public rate. No cert needed. Rate is available in June.
|
Wow, not only is the rate low at $50/night and includes a free night cert, but it is for a King Suite room as well. It just seems too good to be true.
I would suggest you get something in writing from either the hotel or Marriott reservations stating that it is a public rate and doesn't require any type of coupon or voucher. Remember, when things seem too good to be true, quite often you find out there is a reason. So getting something in writing will protect you much better than telling a check-in clerk that you asked Marriott reservations back in April about this rate. |
Sucks that I won't be in San Diego in June ;) :D
Cheers. |

That is what still worries me about the rate.
