very nice refurb job

Stayed last night. Placed in a room on the club floor(of course club is closed on weekends)hotel was booked solid it seems.
The remodel is now finished and the results are very nice.I especially enjoyed the new bed.
Carpet is indeed chocolate brown and the wall treatment is a brown and grey herringbone-very Ralp Laurenish as are the furnishings.
The lobby was spruced up a bit also.
Nice b'fast buffet as usual.

There is a club lounge now at the Sheraton Cerritos? Did I miss something?

I must have missed it too - I stay here frequently and there has never been a lounge.

The breakfast buffet, while an overly generous offering for Plats and Club Guests, has gone **WAY** downhill on a very consistent basis over the past few years. The current iteration is a horrific joke compared to the buffet of just a few short years ago (think smoked salmon and an omelete station). It might be free for us, but a great many people shell out $16+ for it each morning, and that is a crime.

One unpublished option: as part of the buffet, you can request a made-to-order omelet from the kitchen with your choice of fillings.

Just as an FYI, the Sheraton Cerritos has been approved to go ahead with their plans to install a Sheraton Club Lounge at their property. Before anyone asks, I have no idea when it will be completed.

Booked the Live Nation rate instead of the Starpick rate to take advantage of the Amex Facebook $40 deal. The booking was for two beds, but when I checked in, I told them it was ok to put me in a king bed. Then they upgraded me to a junior suite on the 2nd floor facing the roof in the rear. The room is nicely redone, but needs work on vacuuming the carpet. Was provided two breakfast vouchers which I did not use.

was told the other day at check-in that they wont have a Lounge and they were Exempted from having to have 1 is this true?

They did give a Coupon for a free Buffet Breakfast in their restaurant, however didnt get to use the 2 mornings I was there, so I cant comment on what it was like, personally would rather have a Lounge

FD supervisor told me a lounge will be built - but no specific timeframe on completion.

well we both can be correct. since I think the Sheratons have till 12/31 to have a Lounge, and Cerritos wont have it so it could be a long time till they indeed actually have 1. so for the 12/31 and beyond near future they are Exempted

stayed here on 2 different non-consectutive nights last week, 1st Stay was told no Upgrades were available, funny I walked the few feet over to the Links area and printed out where it was showing both a King Bed on the Club Floor and a Jr suite as being available. ended up havinga very nice chat with the GM, she insisted I take the Jr Suite I declined, it was more Out of Principle that I wanted teh Hotel to offer those benfits we are entitled to w/o everyone having to battle each time for them

Then my 2nd Stay Sat night, I called down late Sun morn requesting a 4pm checkout and was Refused , told since they are soldout Sun night they will not allow a 4pm checkout. Originally told 2pm then 3pm but no way 4pm they needed my room.

When I was leaving @ 2:15pm (got to a place with what I was doing that it didnt pay to continue on w/o that 4pm checkout) I was checking out with a guy thatw as present last thurs and asked how it was this time, I informed him he said he would give me teh 4pm checkout I Thanked him and told him the employees here really neeeded a lesson and trained on what the SPG Benefits are, and that by the time I got everything out and able to continue with what I was doing it didnt pay any longer. He insisted on giving some pts

Its a very nice hotel but if they dont bother training their employees to what a Plat is entitled to then what good is it. And why would I want to go back if I will have to battle over each and every Benefit that Im entitled to. A Pity since I did like the hotel and was able to work and get alot accomplished in my room which isnt always the case

Does this property not give free water anymore? I'm on the "SPG level", got the free breakfast coupons etc, but the only water I see is $4/bottle ripoff water.

It's hit or miss...probably a housekeeping problem. Ask the front desk and they will give you some bottles, and let the manager know so they can correct housekeeping.

Recent Stay

Currently staying at the Sheraton Cerritos. Wanted to provide an updated view of the hotel as it hasn't seen a review in a while.

Checked in, no mention of platinum upgrade, but moved to club floor as "no king bed as you requested is available." Was provided free breakfast buffets vouchers, but haven't been able to and don't anticipate using as I am out too early in mornings. In related news, LA traffic requires uncivilized wake up times.

Hotel, as noted, has undergone the Sheraton brand renovation and is fairly nice, although nothing spectacular. Set in a upscale office park, close to 91 freeway and across the street from a generic shopping center.

Beds are comfortable and they do the green choice program (and seem to make it a point of emphasis as it was actually mentioned at check-in and I was invited to participate, which I haven't seen elsewhere at SPG).

From what I've seen online, this area is close to a little India section of LA and also seems to feature a number of good Thai restaurants, although I haven't been to either yet.

Overall, a pretty solid hotel meat and potatoes Sheraton. You could do worse and also better.

Just checked in today for a one night stay. No upgrade for Plat as well except to "club floor" with coupon for buffet breakfast.

I was uograded to a junior suite the previous two stays. I think the hotel is rather full so I'll assume that there were no suites available.

Free water is only at the Club floor and in suites.

I have stayed at this property no less than 6 times this year to date and will likely to do at least 4 more(I am usually here about 10 times each year). I often will go 2-3 months without staying here, but everytime I return the front desk staff seem to remember me, a couple of them actually remember me by my last name. I don't recall the last time I didn't get a plaza facing suite either on a regular or club floor. The parking lot/mall facing suites are too noisy since it is next to the service elevator.

I would say my suite upgrade here is at least at 90% success rate.
