This thread refers to the various Marriott brands within a specific geographic area. Marriott Bonvoy hotels in XX usually have posts asking which property is better, etc. Trip reports are usually better suited in the property specific threads.

[QUOTE=NJUPINTHEAIR;15366045]Never heard of any music festival with shows in the Dome -- which festival is it?
I just spent 4 days at the JW and it was great. Ritz rarely is worth the cost, and is farther away from the center of the city/Convention Center/Warehouse District than all of the other Marriott hotels.[/QUO
It's the Essence Music Festival and it is held just prior to the July 4th weekend. R&B (love), Soul (love), Hip Hop (not a fan), and comedy. Thanks for your feedback.

I did essence a few years ago. It was a great time.
Btw you can easily walk to the dome from the canal st hotels.
Have a great time!
BTW if you haven't been to NOLA during this time, it will be HOT! so dress accordingly.
Also, if you are going to big name restaurants and you may want to make reservations in advance. Especially if you are with a large group.

Ah. Thanks. Seems like we get a much better deal when they don't.
I recently stayed at a Marriott where the lounge was undergoing renovations and I got full breakfast buffet at the restaurant plus a free appetizer for each day I stayed there.
The JW looks nice though, so I'll probably stay there anyway.
