Hi Phil,
Will definitely take you up on this, usually visit LA around 4-5 times a year. Stayed at Westin LAX 3 times in 2014.
Will be back in February 2015

Thanks! Please feel free to PM me once you have your reservation confirmation. I'll be checking daily on most weekdays.

Just cancelled a stay at the Sheraton in two weeks time and moved it to the Westin. Phil never disappoints.

I'm tempted to move a Garden Grove booking to the Westin...any special Platinum goodies being contemplated now that you're at the helm?

Just spent last night at the Westin LAX. It was nice, and I certainly enjoyed all the planespotting... However, the rooms seem to be really loud. Not only were there a lot of barking dogs, every time a plane flew overhead I could hear it. I understand it's an airport hotel, but I have certainly been to quieter airport hotels. Does anyone know if the Sheraton is any quieter?

No, no. The Sheraton is much louder. The thin walls does not help either.

Hi Guys!

I'm Phil Baxter the new GM at the Westin LAX. I look forward to participating here again. I was formerly the GM at the Four Points LAX and most recently Director of Openings and Operations for The SBE Hotel Group.

The good, the bad, and the ugly please! Head's up before your stays also welcome.

Happy Holidays!

Phil

I'm glad Westin LAX now has someone who cares at the helm. I changed a one-night reseravtion from Westin LAX to Fairmont Newport Beach earlier this week because I just wasn't sure what I'll get at the Westin. I've been staying at the Sheraton Gateway the last several years.

Still taking it all in. One thing that I'm sure won't be unexpected is getting good beer in the Club Lounge. Suggestions are always appreciated.

Be Well!

Phil

As most of you probably know there is a kennel that affects some rooms. PM me and I can put an "away from the kennel" request in your profile.

Best!

Any thoughts on putting tighter access controls on the lounge and offering a nice breakfast for Plat and paid Exec level guests? Garden Grove has always had a nice breakfast in their lounge, and when chaos and lost revenue ensued, they clamped down on access and abuse vs cutting the breakfast selection.

A couple of COMING SOONS! First and most important I'm going to get some El Segundo Brewing beer into the Club Lounge. The Brewery is four miles away and the beer in GOOD. Secondly, I've added a Westin Experience Specialist position who will act like an on-property ambassador for you. Her name is Erica Cornejo and she couldn't be a nicer person. Feel free to PM me your email address and I'll introduce you to her. Finally we haven't been serving breakfast in the Club on the weekends. We'll change that and serve breakfast every day up there soon. Be Well! Phil

The front desk has always been great about keeping me away from the kennel side, on my request. Next time the property has a refresh, I hope you'll look at any way to minimize the sound with heavier curtains or whatever.

Welcome back to LAX!
