Comments: Property seemed near capacity. Lots of renovations since the last time I was here (~4 years ago), new lobby and (small but well-run) M club, room bathrooms are about the same, though.

Comments: Very busy during July 4th week. Check-In experience was mediocre, no elite recognition. Arrived approx. 3:30, room not ready until 4:20 (20 minutes after check-in time). Day before departure requested late checkout for 2PM and granted without issue. Front Desk Associate also asked if there was anything else we needed. Night and day experience versus check-in. For breakfast they now do assigned tables which is a bit of a CF. Previous year you just checked in with the hostess and chose any available table. They also have added an upsell to a cook to order breakfast with omelettes etc., in addition to the standard RI complimentary breakfast. We stuck with the standard breakfast. The breakfast area has always been a full service restaurant for lunch and dinner. Only the upsell for breakfast is new this year. Since non guests of the hotel could also buy breakfast, I wondered if that contributed to the overcrowding during breakfast. In any case it is still a very nice oceanfront property on the boardwalk in Bethany Beach, DE. It is literally a one block walk into town with restaurants and shopping.

Comments: Property is approx. 1 year old with the new SHS format with barnyard door bathrooms, daybed with trundle bed couch, and light brown color theme. Check in was good and gracious. Room was fine except one quirk. The only way to turn off the built-in lights above the mini-bar area and the desk area was with the room master light switch. This also disables the desk lamp and some of the outlets. My daughter was trying to sleep and it was impossible for me to shut off the overhead lights and just have the desk lamp on so as not to disturb her. I figured there must be a way for me to do so and spoke to the front desk associate and she reached out to a peer and I spoke to them as well. While both were very polite and tried hard, neither had a way to to resolve the issue. I have been in other new build SHS properties and don't recall this problem though I am not %100 sure of that. Regardless it is a bad lighting design. All light fixtures in a room should be individually switched. <EndRant> Breakfast offering was weak for SHS (items not refilled promptly) and limited selection. Property does have a small bar, which I didn't partake of it.

Excellent exec lounge too. room was huge and 2 rooms, huge bathroom, 2 views, high floor, on regular points stay and I paid for another night & was able to stay in room.

Comments: Excellent excellent customer service at front desk & in bar. amazing room first night on points. woke up looking into water in harbor. upgraded room. extended stay knowing was going to be moved to regular standard room, but there was a party in the hotel outside room and the music vibrated through the rooms until midnight on this side of hotel so while the room would have been fine (though would stay elsewhere staying for views if not on harbor side of hotel. if can stay on harbor side, I would stay here again in a heartbeat), weekend hotel party noise made it difficult & had to go sit in bar until party was over (hotel was full so couldn't move to other side of hotel). Location is excellent, but stayed in several bonvoy properties in Sydney & all are excellent locations for different reasons.

Comment: Posted my feedback in the master thread. Was kind of a rollercoaster as it started off with a CA Suite then back to Deluxe the day before only to get bumped up one category to Grand Deluxe.

Comments: originally intended to stay one night & switch to a less expensive hotel (solo vacation). this hotel & service was amazing. Stayed several times (used Sydney as a base; was in & out). This is easily now my favorite Westin anywhere. Exec lounge remembered my allergy on different checkins, & would bring me evening hors d'oeuvres & specify that they were allergy free for me. After one discussion they remembered my preferences, on different stays, days later. And the hotel was big, busy, and full. Excellent lounge breakfast and hors d'oeuvres. a couple 2 night stays when there was no available upgrade the first night, they would move my stuff for me the second night, if an upgraded room was available. Sinh Le in the Exec Lounge was an amazing employee. They all were, but he stood out (welcomed me by name after telling him on my first stay, and remembered me and my allergy, my drink preference; was incredible).
Once came into lobby soaked from sudden rain storm & someone ran at me with a towel.

Room received: upgraded high floor 2 beds (was asked if I was ok with 2 beds), requested half city half water view but had to move down 10 floors because it smelled of stale smoke; same view given. said it was upgraded. I'm not sure what non-upgrade would have been, perhaps low floor. all views were excellent.

Comments: No lounge access bc Ritz Carlton property. Very attentive service and without requesting, clerk was looking for an 'upgrade' while I was checking in. They offered access at 150Euros per night. Disappointed to not have a breakfast of any kind incl, but liked that they had nespresso machines in rooms. Really good service. many many interns in this hotel from all over the world, learning & working to get service delivery down pat.
