Comments: Was honeymoon, and contacted hotel prior to arriving. Also mentioned it at check in. Suite was not available my 1st night, but offered from 2nd night onward. Butler came up to move all our stuff on day 2 while we were out. Loved it!!!

Comments: SNAs cleared 5-days before arrival. I inquired at check-in if "better" suites were available... they said no (and I didn't see availability on app either).

Elite Level: Titanium

Comments: Was honeymoon, and contacted hotel before my flight left NY via "chat with us" on app, asking if an upgrade was possible. Suite upgraded showed on app by the time I landed at Singapore airport and checked. Room decorated with balloons and cake. Hotel reached back out on 2nd day of stay congratulating us, and asking how we were doing. Good stay.

Comments: I actually had more success as an AMEX Platinum free gold Bonvoy status, and had a couple of junior suite upgrades as a Gold member. My last "Suite" upgrade was probably around Jan-Feb 2019. I contacted the Front Desk manager and seeing if they are still honoring suite upgrades, and they said yes. Rather it is the volume of Ambassadors that come through that your percentage of upgrades will be low. Seeing NBA teams and numerous business travelers who stay here, your upgrade percentage will be pretty dismal even as an ambassador. It is my favorite Portland Bonvoy property with their lounge, fantastic staff, Departures restaurant (excellent modern twist on Asian themed dishes), and gym.

Comments: Would have liked a Grand Pool suite, but no complaints, as this is a very solid upgrade (two categories) for an award stay during the busiest time of the year.

I meant to post this months ago, but, this may be my best upgrade ever. Damn I loved this room. I have an upcoming, longer stay there in a few months and will be using SNAs. However, the suite I got upgraded to doesn't even qualify for SNAs....

Property: W South Beach
Date(s): April 1-2 (right after Ultra Music Festival)
Room booked: Wonderful Studio, Suite, Ocean view, Balcony

Room received: Bi-level Mega Suite (w/ Plunge Pool and Oceanfront View)
Elite Level: Platinum
Award stay: No.
Rate Type: small Corp discount ($687 a night)
LNF stay: no.
SNAs redeemed: no
Comments: The elite ambassador wrote me a hand-written card to thank me for my loyalty and that she hopes I enjoy the Mega Bi-Level suite (with plunge pool!). Still the best Marriot in terms of customer service I've visited (and puts the Edition up the street to shame in terms of friendliness of staff)
