Comment: First time ever no upgrade here, as property is sold out. Fine with no upgrade, I prefer studio suite to most of the full size suites here.

Comment: I stay here several times a year, never any upgrades but always on a high floor (8-9) and sometimes with a view of the Boston skyline in the distance. Only upgrade possible at this hotel are the slightly larger "studio" rooms but there are very few of them (2-3 per floor). Excellent service and excellent full buffet breakfast on the weekend included for Elites.

Comment: Hotel was "full" so could not give me the rooms I reserved but that was not really a big issue. Lounge was closed (Saturday) but additional water bottles were provided by the desk. Both rooms faced the wrong way (away from the Capital building) but were otherwise fine. Buffet breakfast was ok. Still have not received the 1000 points for Plat guests.

Sheraton Taipei
Used SNAs to upgrade to exec suite for 5 nights ( possibly unnecessarily as they are pretty good with upgrades, but I didn’t want to risk it). Very nice. This is still a solid choice in Taipei ( literally, as the whole city shook in a fairly significant earthquake at 5.30 one morning).

Comments: Picked up from the ferry terminal for free (only 5 mins drive) and received royal welcome from the entire management team up to the GM upon check in at this newly rebranded glamping resort that joined Marriott a few months ago. Upgraded from the basic to the most expensive tent with its own jacuzzi. Rate included breakfast buffet so traded 1000 welcome points for bottle of wine (which cost US$30 in the bar). Management really making an effort for elites here. No happy hour or drink benefit aside from 20% off everything in restaurant.

Comments: Relatively poor recognition at check in. No upgrade, although hotel only has 6 suites and there were two weddings going on, so they were prob booked.

Comments: Booked a Deluxe for me and an Executive Deluxe for my parents and called the hotel directly to request for connecting rooms. Found out from the app the next day that I was pre-assigned a two-bedroom Executive Suite, impressive given that this was over a month out. As expected and as the name suggested, the Suite had two bedrooms (one with a king bed and the other with two twins) with spacious walk-in closets, two full baths, a full kitchen and washer/dryer, and lots and lots of storage space. Surprisingly, the living room was a bit small (especially in comparison to the size of the Suite) as it shared the space with the dining area and was sparsely furnished. As with the whole hotel, the Suite did feel a bit dated (also not helped by their choice of furnishings), but everything was very well maintained. Overall, very happy with the upgrade.

Comments: This was a return stay, I've stayed a few times before. Was in contact with the concierge team about my request for a suite. I was upgraded to a cool corner room weeks out. At check in (12 PM) I was told my cool corner room wasn't available, I reiterated I was really interested in the suite. He said he could do that but it would be a few hours before the room is ready because of occupying elites. I said no problem, was given a standard room for a few hours and moved over about 2 hours later. This property clearly doesn't dole out suites, but have come through the few times I've really wanted one (traveling with family).

Did they pay you the room type guarantee? They can't just give you a king if you confirmed 2 queens.

Comments: very nice stay, no suite upgrade but no asked for, hotel almost full. Good and welcoming recognition at check in, points as amenity perk, breakfast bag in the very early morning.
Great Club Lounge with an impressive spread of food during Saturday happy hours (from 6pm). ^

So you booked two rooms but wound up with one upgraded room with two bedrooms, right? So did they charge you for both rooms or did you cancel one and just keep the suite?
