"Just down the street" is a bit misleading.
It's the same street, but it's 1 km further away from piccadilly cirus/leicester square.

It's not that close really with 12 min walk and in a totally different and boring location. Nothing is happening there.
But yeah Sheraton Grand is a good option, but location wise I'd pick Le Meridien again.
Think I'll try the W next time in London but I've heard it's rubbish. One of the worst Ws?

The Sheraton Stamford in Connecticut closed permanently on Thursday, news articles say it's going to be converted to apartments:
