Most the recent DPs say the ability to upgrade/downgrade is dead. Good luck to find a nice place to enjoy. It can be hard for a cat 1-4 for 7 consecutive nights....

I looked in the Wiki but couldn't find the answer to two simple questions:
Can you attach Travel Package certificate online or do you have to call in? Are there any adverse effects of booking a 7-day res with points and then calling in to attach the Travel Package instead of points? |

Sure, show us some recent DPs pls.... You say "always", but how can you explain the DP reported with post #2138 and others? You get no proof. Your DP is half year old.
No, it is never a valid reason to request "extension" since YOU can't find any properties for your 7-night stay. You ordered it and it is up to you to use it. Either use it or lose it. Marriott can't save you from your speculate bet. A 5 month old DP is STILL a DP that proves a converted NC can redeem for a night past it's expiration date. HELLO?! 7 nights at 2020! It is definitely a valid reason because not all properties have standard availability 7 consecutive nights in a row and from my past experience when speaking with agents from the plat line, most generally are very pro-active in helping. I'm holding up to call for my extension till September, I'm not going to waste a month's worth of extension just to prove you wrong. |

A2 - Nope, you can do that to hold reservations with points, the agent can overwrite it and apply the TP for you. But watch out with all the peak and non-peak, it will make points reserv slightly more troublesome, and Marriott automatically deducts all your points if you have enough within 15 days of your check in date. |

I'm trying to understand your agenda here, why are you so dead set on proving that it is not possible to extend? Did Marriott crossed you and you had lost like 3-4 TPs overnight or something? Or have you redeemed all your TP already? You talk about proof, but yet your argument is only based on something that is an existential thought or belief.

I have a question of 7-night travel package expiration date. My 7-night travel package will be expired on Jun 20, 2020. Can I use it before the expiration date, but stay after the expiration date? E.g., can I use it on Jun 18th and stays until Jun 24th for 7 nights, which is after the expiration date of Jun 20?

I wouldn’t just blindly follow personal advice from someone over the internet. |

Even if you are able to extend (or cancel and reissue for the pedantic), someone will says the results of one person don't prove anything.

The point of posting here is to share constructive comments and DP. |
