Do not create too many accounts too fast. Some reports of account shutdown when same SSN used across multiple cards / accounts in a short period of time.

I know for a fact BOA does not give you points/miles but they don't charge you cash advance fee.

I read the last 13 pages. I saw mixed reports on Citi and BOA cards.
Has anybody funded either the NW or USB VB card with a Citi (AA) or BOA (AS) card recently and not been charged cash advance fees and received miles?
Also saw someone said they had a friend who used VB to fund Citi card and they didn't count it for his minimum spend. Any new data points on this? I'd use it for the constant AA/Hilton churning right now if it would allow. Thanks!

Stay away from CITI. They do treat it as a cash advance. I have no experience with BOA or Chase cards but have used US bank and Barclays cards without any issue.

If you use a US Bank credit card to load US Bank Visabuxx card, you won't earn any points. I used the Club Carlson card and did not earn any points. I think some people reported the same outcome with US Bank FlexPerks card.

And FWIW, I've never been hit with a cash advance from citi for VR @ CVS, AP or Target Amex either. So, I'm not sure what people are doing to get hit with the CA.

No, they don't. Over they past few months, I've experimented with both buxx and Citi did NOT treat it as a cash advance with either version. I've loaded both versions with Citi, Chase, BOA (Hawaiian Airlines) US Bank and Penfed Visa....I earned points on all. The key to US Bank cards is you need to load those to the NW brand. As it's been discussed, you won't earn any points for loading a USB Buxx w/ a USB product.

Also, and most importantly, a lot of people (although only a small percentage, I believe) will purposefully say false things sometimes because they want to keep the deal to themselves. So if you're really into this game, read as much as you can on FT and blogs, but test it out yourself, and in small amounts.

+1, lots of things on blogs, forums, internet are based on hearsay. I like to read about the different products of MFC spend first, then test it out myself (always in small amounts) personally since it's your best bet.

I've NEVER had a problem with AP. I didn't get cash advance charges for Google Wallet either when that deal came and passed.

If it is working for you, then good for you. I have tried both BUXX cards and got hit with Cash advance fee by CITI. That was the basis for my opinion offered earlier.
