The same walmart is giving me hard time in buying gift cards. I reminded the manager of this perticular event, they dont even remember it so please keep preaching to minimum. I know what I am doing.

Then one time I received tamped card worth 2K, walmart didnt want to do anything with this. Had to fight tooth and nail with attorney Generals office to get a refund.
lol. Pretending to be the hero? You got an extra $2k and didn't notice that?!? And you came clean when they pointed it out? What a hero!

Also pretty sure "unethetical" isn't an actual word.

Anyone not approved for ONE account because they had an account before? I had an account that I closed in 2022. I get this message when I submit the app "Unfortunately, we can't offer you an account right now." Any workaround?

No, I think I closed it. This was before they partnered with Wally. So I just talked to an agent now, he says a closed account cannot be reopened and any effort to open a new one will be "auto-declined".

You dont want to reopen a closed account, you want to open a new one.
Ask if you can do that.
Why would you have closed the original one? Have a good reason when you talk to an agent, like you moved out of town.
If your account was closed on favorable conditions, there should be no reason for them to deny you a new one.

OTOH, if you left owing them money or jilted them on paying a fee, or was just a PIA, then understandable that they dont want you back.

Also, make sure your name/SSN isnt on the CHEX system 😳

I'm not sure why anyone would think this is a good idea. For all of these debit load accts, I'd think you'd want to keep money in as long as possible, never drain fully, always keep a decent balance in perpetuity, make real use of the debit card on occasion, make normal looking atm withdrawls on occasion, etc

Had one out of three ONE Card accounts locked and closed yesterday. The account closed received a weekly DD from a Wells Fargo Direct Pay account, had monthly WM debit loads totaling $6K the past three statement cycles, and was only used to pay CC accounts via pulls from the CC companies.

P2 and P3 accounts are still open despite more frequent and higher monthly load totals. These accounts do not receive any type of DDs and are only used for debit transactions for MOs at WMs and grocery stores.
I was told I would receive my funds from the closed account via a check in 7-14 days.

Aside from the MO fee do you get charged $3 when paying with the card?

Don't be shocked if over the next several weeks your other accounts are closed as well.

Many banks have rules on the number of deposits or withdrawals one can do in a month (I have seen as low as six). One Bank has very complicated T&C's which have deterred me from opening an account with them, but you may want to see if there are rules on activity which you may have exceeded.

Why would they charge fees for using the card? That would defeat the whole point of them trying to get people to "use it as intended". Probably least unsafe way to cash out is random amount sub-1000 MO transactions at grocery stores.

Found out that my ONE acct has been closed. Here's how it played out:

a. Couldn't log into the app anymore, got an error each time. When I tried via regular computer I was able to log on, but my account only showed basic info and NO account activity info - i.e. no balance/deposit/withdrawal info. I can't even see what my account # is.
b. When I called One to find out what was going on, the foreign rep put me on hold and then told me "for security reasons" my account had been permanently closed. They wouldn't even tell me what my balance was, once again for "security reasons."
c. When I asked what was going to happen to my remaining account balance, they eventually told me a check would be mailed to me within 7-10 business days. Very anxious to see if that actually happens.

Bottom line: the only reason that I found out that my account had been closed was because I called - ONE sent me no notice, and I'm not so sure they ever would have. Most importantly TAKE SCREENSHOTS while your account is still active because once your account is nuked your info will be permanently erased.

Did you do any ACH pulls from there? to pay a CC for example, or bill-pay?

First, One Bank is a real bank and has to play by the rules, so yes, you will eventually get your money by check, probably within 10 to 14 business days.
Second, most of these on-line banks will allow you to download monthly statements so there is no need to screenshot every transaction other than the current month's activity.

It would be nice if you tell us your activity that caused them to shut you down.

Question for those doing loads at WM. When using the phone app barcode, I see the load limit per transaction is $999. I have a bunch of $200s I'm trying to liquidate. Do you ask the clerk for a $800 load, broken up over 4 different swipes? Or can I do several individual $200 loads with only one swipe each? What is the best method here?
