Signing up to buy $1000 visa/mc gift cards
You can buy the $1000 cards on Simon's volume site. Their regular site only sells $500 cards.
If you're new, or haven't bought anything in a year, you need to register at https://www.simon.com/volume/register-consumer
As part of the registration process, you will have to go to a brick and mortar mall and buy at least $3000 in cards in person, as well as filling out some paperwork while there. After that, you can do everything online.

As of Nov 2020, Simon Mall Gift cards will only work for $99/swipe for money services at Walmart and many grocery chains.

$1000 gift cards are available indefinitely.

Even though I've noticed that Simon-shipped cards are activating much more quickly (in less than one hour), I now notice that orders are activating instantly.

After entering in the required activation information, the system says "Your order has been successfully activated and all cards are now ready to use."

That's great news!

I hope this latest email that advertises 35% of purchase fees through 9/19 is a joke. I got an email a little bit later saying that my rep wants to "recall" the email.

When I make an order it won't take the promo-code. Fingers crossed!

I emailed a Simon Mall rep. regarding Sutton Bank.

His response: “We do offer Visa and MasterCard products issued by Sutton Bank. Some of them can be purchased for up to $1,000 - but it is limited in scope at this time.”

I would have responded: Great. Please send me a link to the $1,000 Visa issued by Sutton which I can purchase.

So I went to buy 4 X $500 Simon issued by Sutton Bank VGC and as I grab them, the CSR tells me that I should be getting the special edition one that says back to school, or something like that. Those had 50% discount on the fee, which came to around $1.95. Ended up buying them, but she insisted I should take more. I didn't take more as I had not tested the waters back in the Middle of Nowhere Mid West, and $2,000 seemed good to float and test, after confirming here (Thanks FT ers) that they were working at Wally.

Well, happy to say that both Wally and Krogy suck the entire balance out of them when buying Money Orders. The 4 VGCs are long gone and the Money Orders are on hand and ready to be used to pay bills. Things are looking way better to get to AA Plat Pro as discounts like that can easily justify $10,000 next time I have to visit California for work, which is looking to be next Thursday

So the current wisdom is Meta - still troublesome and Sutton - extremely easy? I’ve avoided the whole Simon thing because I didn’t want to spend 2-3 days driving around buying MO $100 at a time.

If I can go to 1-2 places to clear out 2-3k then it might change things.

sutton could last a couple of years at $500, but it will be dead in 6 months at $1k
