Signing up to buy $1000 visa/mc gift cards
You can buy the $1000 cards on Simon's volume site. Their regular site only sells $500 cards.
If you're new, or haven't bought anything in a year, you need to register at https://www.simon.com/volume/register-consumer
As part of the registration process, you will have to go to a brick and mortar mall and buy at least $3000 in cards in person, as well as filling out some paperwork while there. After that, you can do everything online.

As of Nov 2020, Simon Mall Gift cards will only work for $99/swipe for money services at Walmart and many grocery chains.

$1000 gift cards are available indefinitely.

My naughty card that didn't work after 3 swipes was also 4551. But had 13 other cards purchased in the same batch, also 4551, that worked fine from Tues-Thurs this week.

I know this is the SM thread, but since we’re also talking about Metas, anyone have any issues with DE, GE, or SE cards from ODOM. I don’t have any to check the BIN, but I might go buy one tomorrow to see if they’re being problematic as well.

There is now a swipe limit. I bought a 1K MO at WM with $250 swipes from my Simon card. The limit is less than $500 because $500 did not work. Sucks

I went back to the mall about the errors thinking they’re going to swap the cards for me. The Simon people said no swaps because the cards are activated and fine. It was true. I checked. So I called the card issuer and they saw the rejection and said was because buying a “money” product. The agent “highly advised” me to use them for purchase of goods only. Almost like they could even disable the card or something. This happened with three cards on 10. I concluded its way too risky to buy more after that call. I’m looking for other venues. I never tired other chains for MO so no comment there.

Exact same experience. 3 of 10 bad. Same batch. 4551

The Simon volume website has card balance check feature and it errors out 40% of the time when I click on the "Balance" button for individual card balance.

Someone from Simon side has to crack it down.

I don't think the balance check has anything to do with it. I had this issue on cards bought in person

What exactly do you mean by a "swipe limit"?

Are you saying that if you have a $1000 VGC and try to buy a $999.00 MO from WM that you have to swipe it 4 times to make it work?

IOWs, one swipe fails, 4 swipes of $250/swipe succeeds? That would now start to make sense to me. Perhaps WM has placed a "unload limit" on these cards. This would replicate the One Vanilla card that has a $49.99 limit on it. I would not experience it because my swipes are <$250 (or whatever the limit supposedly is).

Of course this is only rank speculation, so please don't take it as fact
