As of 9/18/21: WM loads are no longer free. WM will charge each load (no matter what the size) $3.74 in addition to the money being deposited into your Go Bank account.
GoBank fees and limits:
Cash deposits are limited to $2,500 per day and $3,000 per 30 days, subject to a maximum account balance of $50,000.
The monthly fee will accumulate if the account is dormant. You must call the phone number on the back to close the account.
5/29/19 - There may be a difference in which card gets free loads at WM. Getting the card online through GoBank.com sends out a Visa version. This card may not allow free loads at WM. Reports are that getting the card directly at WM will result in free loads. If anyone can confirm this, please do so.

It seems to be available from the website but not in the mobile app. Seems like they are making some updates because I added a new payee and got an email about it that i never happened before. The email had a # to contact and it is out of service

It’s an easy way to drain over $2k off the card for me. I have some Walmart’s near me that won’t allow split payments, so I need a separate MO for every $500 VGC. Or I can load multiple $500 VGC’s to GoBank and only have to get 1-2 MO’s to drain the card.

Why not billpay directly to the CC?

I don't like paying my CC bill from multiple accounts. I prefer to pay my bill every month from one bank account, and since GoBank only allows $3k load/month, it wouldn't cover my total CC charges. The only thing I like to do with my CC in relation to MS is the actual purchase of the VGC. Other than that, I don't like GoBank/Bluebird/Serve etc linked to any of my CC's. To me it's just easier to manage. A bank account getting shut down is no biggie for me. A CC getting shut down is a much bigger problem.

Just be careful with GB: I have had someone using my debit card in middle of nowhere states (basically far from my home state), so far total damage is $2k+. I have filed the dispute with them. They were all debit card transactions, and funny thing is debit card never left my home except for WMT loads.

that’s my concern. It’s an easy way to liquidate the VGC’s, so I don’t wanna burn that bridge by loading $4k/month. The extra $1k isn’t worth it. If I get shutdown so be it, but at least it won’t be for something I knew I could’ve avoided.

The good news: after some frustration, I did ultimately get my money back.
Here's what I have done since. The GB website allows you to set notifications. So:
- after signing in, click your name up at the top of the page
- click Settings
- click Devices and Notifications
- there are a bunch of sliders. You can pick the sensitivity, but I've set it to the max. I get a notification on my mobile phone and in my email for a purchase over $1, gas purchase over $1, and an ATM withdrawal greater than $15.
So if there is any future funny business, I am not expecting GB to detect it, but I should get an immediate notification for any transaction over those amounts. Fortunately, it hasn't happened again.
I used to use my GB debit card on occasion to make it look like I was a "regular" customer and not an MSer. I don't do that anymore. I feel much more secure using my credit cards for all transactions. The major banks are very good about notifying me immediately if they detect something funny in my credit card account, and the major banks make it easy to recover your money when there is credit card fraud.

Typical go bank behavior, send a notice that is 90 days late.
This is only for pulling money out of account correct?
I use Paypal to deposit into account to waive dd fee.
