As of 9/18/21: WM loads are no longer free. WM will charge each load (no matter what the size) $3.74 in addition to the money being deposited into your Go Bank account.
GoBank fees and limits:
Cash deposits are limited to $2,500 per day and $3,000 per 30 days, subject to a maximum account balance of $50,000.
The monthly fee will accumulate if the account is dormant. You must call the phone number on the back to close the account.
5/29/19 - There may be a difference in which card gets free loads at WM. Getting the card online through GoBank.com sends out a Visa version. This card may not allow free loads at WM. Reports are that getting the card directly at WM will result in free loads. If anyone can confirm this, please do so.

Gobank by Greendot - online banking with debit card(2016 onwards)
Hi,
Did anyone whose account was show down have problem receiving their fund back after asking Gobank to send a paper check?
After my account was shut down, I asked Gobank return my fund via paper check in early Dec. After two weeks, I had not received the check, then I called Gobank again and they issued me another check in late Jan. But till now I still have not received the check yet.
I wonder if Gobank is trying to play some game and to hold my money. Did anyone have the similar experience before?
thanks..

Caution!
3/4 cards temporarily suspended, reason given quick loads/unload activity....loaded a bunch of $200 VGC and made one large CC payment ($1600)....The only card that stil active, I made 2 smaller payments including a car payment....rep encouraged to use the card "properly" ....or else....lifted the block on one of them...still have to call to lift the suspension on the other 2...
Given the Serve/BB recent shutdowns, this won't last long...

No doubt. A cashier commented today how many people are now getting and using these cards. I plan on taking it slow and also doing a lot more regular spend, especially small transactions at self checkout lanes. That way, if Green Dot (issuer of GoBank) decides to put in place strickter algorithms to detect unusual spending patterns and/or volumes and crack down on those accts, mine will hopefully be spared.

I was thinking about applying for this card...but waiting about a month or two. I don't want to mix-in with all the January applications.
Plan was to have a $500 DD every two weeks ($1000 in most months). I know this is twice the amount necessary to avoid the fee, but that is fine with me. Also, load like $1k or $1.5k a pop at WM, in $500 simon cards. Maybe mix some $500 RA loads in.
As for unloading though, I am worried about what I am hearing about what GoBank considers strange unloading practices. I mean, my mortgage is about $1.6k/month, so clearly that would come out in one lump sum each month and that is about half of what I would be loading each month. Beyond that, I would probably do about 20 small debit swipes in the month, but I really don't do many swipes in the first place, so it might total $200 - 300. They would pretty much be at the same lunch place I go to everyday or a maybe one or two CVS swipes a month. If I am going to a proper restaurant, or if I am making a travel purchase, that is going on the Sapphire card (double miles).
Do y'all think it is even worth my time to get the GoBank. It seems like the consensus is that the card is VERY closure happy. The wiki, for example, is mostly focused on closure reports, less on how to use the card. It is just that I don't even know what they mean by "normal" usage.

FYI, after I signed up, my account got locked pending ID proof even before I received the card. When I just received the card, I uploaded the DR license but I found my account closed. Anyway I got recording saying I'll never be able to get GoBank card again. BTW this must be fastest shut down for me...
