As of 9/18/21: WM loads are no longer free. WM will charge each load (no matter what the size) $3.74 in addition to the money being deposited into your Go Bank account.
GoBank fees and limits:
Cash deposits are limited to $2,500 per day and $3,000 per 30 days, subject to a maximum account balance of $50,000.
The monthly fee will accumulate if the account is dormant. You must call the phone number on the back to close the account.
5/29/19 - There may be a difference in which card gets free loads at WM. Getting the card online through GoBank.com sends out a Visa version. This card may not allow free loads at WM. Reports are that getting the card directly at WM will result in free loads. If anyone can confirm this, please do so.

3/4 cards temporarily suspended, reason given quick loads/unload activity....loaded a bunch of $200 VGC and made one large CC payment ($1600)....The only card that stil active, I made 2 smaller payments including a car payment....rep encouraged to use the card "properly" ....or else....lifted the block on one of them...still have to call to lift the suspension on the other 2...
Given the Serve/BB recent shutdowns, this won't last long...

Ummm....not really...and yes I did read the wiki....been using this for the last 2 years with no problems on 4 accounts....loading using gift cards...all kind of denominations...and unloading via billpay...not a single swipe...stayed under 3k per account though....well, UNTIL last week....suddenly 3/4 got suspended...but it seems like a warning because they reopened one account when I called about it...

My wife and I successfully applied for Go cards, funding them online with $100 from our Buxx accounts.
We just got the cards in the mail. I went to activate them. When I log in to activate, it says that our accounts have already been closed! I checked our Buxx accounts, and at least they've refunded our $100 deposits. I must be the first person to ever get his account closed before he even used it.
BTW, I tried to call them to ask about this, and the phone tree just shuts me down, saying my account is closed, don't try to open a new greendot account, and "goodbye." Is there a way to reach a human being in this situation. I kind of feel they owe me an explanation, and perhaps a chance to reconsider.

Edited to add: funding with a real bank debit card also might seem suspicious to them; they might wonder why someone with a real bank account would want a prepaid card.

Same runaround too - Tried to call, no live person, so emailed, told to call. So I sorta got a bit testy with them on social media and it worked! Sorta... got a call from one of their more 'special' teams it seems and all she could really say was the system had flagged it for 'unusual activity' but could not tell me what it was. Kind of strange since I'd never had an account with them and funded it directly with my own debit card.
I was supposed to get a followup call back after she investigated more but haven't heard back yet.
