As of 9/18/21: WM loads are no longer free. WM will charge each load (no matter what the size) $3.74 in addition to the money being deposited into your Go Bank account.
GoBank fees and limits:
Cash deposits are limited to $2,500 per day and $3,000 per 30 days, subject to a maximum account balance of $50,000.
The monthly fee will accumulate if the account is dormant. You must call the phone number on the back to close the account.
5/29/19 - There may be a difference in which card gets free loads at WM. Getting the card online through GoBank.com sends out a Visa version. This card may not allow free loads at WM. Reports are that getting the card directly at WM will result in free loads. If anyone can confirm this, please do so.

I have a Walmart MoneyCard Preferred (Visa). This was an upscale rebranded GoBank product, that allowed you to personalize the card with a photo applied to the full front. I assumed they'd replace with boring standard WM card. Few weeks agon, they sent me a new card WITH THE PICTURE and it's now a Chip card.

I don't think you can load BB or go cards at the self kiosks. These days loading at the register is hit or miss. I believe they all can but some cashiers either don't want to deal with it or they don't know how. I often hv to walk them through what codes to use for a reload. When that doesn't work, I go to MC
Now I receive the permanent one, try to load it twice with 1kSimon at wally MC, both ask me for 3.94 load fee ?

Hi,
I tried to buy a GoBank card at Walmart today and load $400 with visa gift card. The cashier at Money center said I cannot buy the card with credit and have to buy and load the card at the same time with the debit card, is that true? I cannot buy the GoBank card and use my credit card to pay the $2.95 fee then load with debit card? Then I said ok I will pay and load at the same time with debit card. But when he saw I tried to use my visa gift card, he told me I cannot load with visa gift card. How is everyone here loading their GoBank card at Walmart??
Thanks.

What is the best way to load visa gift card? Meaning should I tell the CSR I want to load $400 to GoBank card but with 2 different debit cards? or should I just say I want to do two separate loads and each load with $200?
Thanks.

My experience is that it does not. I have a biweekly transfer from my bank for $250 to avoid the monthly fee and routinely load $3K per month at WM. I have been doing this on two cards for years and have never had a problem. Over the years the maximum amount of each load has shrunk. It used to be $1000, then $800. Now it's down to $500 per load. Totals of all loads cannot exceed $2500 per day, $3000 every 30 days.
Do you happen to know how GB counts "every 30 days"? Is it a calendar month or a rolling 30-day period? Thanks in advance!
