so if the cards got misplaced to someone else's mail box, the recipient can just activate them and use them right away? this is too risky.

Yes, although I would think by now that my mailperson is used to cramming the Priority Mail envelops in my box lol.
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/27681528-post866.html how long does it take to get the $2k back? or have to take this $2k loss as cost of doing MS business which is not affordable. |
Yeah, GC.com will let anybody activate the cards and drain them. It's an incredibly stupid way of doing business. They are counting on USPS never making a mistake and the cards never being stolen from your box. That is a huge liability, and I'm shocked that any company would take that risk.

Guys what frequency of orders will be considered safe on GiftCards.com? I usually place 1 order ($2000) every other week and now thinking to move to 2 orders per week. Let me know if anyone has any experience with this. Thanks
|
They must batch up their orders when they send as I went 3 days without any envelopes and today I receive 9!

They limit you to a maximum of 5k/day. I don't think you will have any issues with the frequency that you are ordering. You should consider using giftcardmall if you are not using them already since it is cheaper after the CB. I use both, but also use GiftCards.com since there is an apparent limit of 15k per month at giftcardmall.

I guess it's one of those risks of doing business. Losing just one $500 GC sucks, what more a couple of $500s?! I've decided to avoid these online GC orders unless the discounted 5B gig comes back on GCM. The risks of getting lost in the mail, not counting the unreliable shipping date, drives me nuts. But that's just me, I'm glad there are b&m places I can buy my GCs and drain them immediately.
cards lost in the mail seems to be a low likelihood event..but the consequence when it happens is very severe. |
Anyone having issues with the app? Today its started giving the error "We're sorry, an error occurred. Please try again." Tried uninstall/reinstall and reboot and its still not working.

I am as risk averse as you are. :) I will continue to buy from b&m only and drain right away. ordering online is a tradeoff b/w higher risk and saved fees.
cards lost in the mail seems to be a low likelihood event..but the consequence when it happens is very severe. I have a lot of friends who order online simply because they have been banned at their local stores from buying there. IOW, this is their only option left and they're hoping GCdc or GCM won't ban them as well. I understand their situation and they also know it's a huge gamble. as to risk aversion, I know the risks is real, there are 2 people known to me who are still going back n forth with their local PO and local police to find their missing envelopes with GCs. It's now over six months and their cases have not been resolved. With or without a float that would put me in deep debt, I wouldn't want that to happen to me. I had my share of scare when I received an UNSEALED envelope from GCM of 5Bs that were already activated! I wasn't even aware the order was approved because there was no confirmation, no shipping/tracking when I checked the website. I consider that incident as a wake up call and will just continue buying from my reliable trios WM, ds and grocery store. |
Can someone confirm GC.com has no monthly limits for purchasing VGC.
