The closest Simon Mall to me is 2 hours so I'll probably order 1 or 2 a month online and have them mailed to me for additional $500-$1000 MS spend.

Sorry for the newb question, I'm a bit new to this and haven't found the answer to this question around. Do you need to go to a Simons mall in person to get these VGCs? I notice you can buy them online, but I also notice a lot of people here complaining about not having a Simons mall near them

You can buy them online, but it's one card per order, and you have to pay for shipping. That makes them unprofitable for the vast majority of cases. If you go in store, you can get up to $10 000 (depending on the local store's rules) immediately and don't have to pay for shipping.

That's a perfect answer, thanks!

Simon gift card

I am new to Simon Gift card. Is pin number available for Simon GC? Do we need to set or last 4 digits of the card? Can we use it to buy MO in walmart?

TIA,
ramamosn

Default is last four. You can change it if you want. Yes, they're usable at Walmart.

Last 4 digits. Yes, at WMs that accept them for payment, and with cashiers that accept them and know what keys to press.

Anyone have recent experiences with buying maybe one or two $500 Simon cards during the first months of having an Amex card? I got a few new CCs in anticipation of work travel that ended up getting delayed by two months. Hoping to get a minimal amount of M$ done without triggering any problems. Thanks.

Day I received my spg biz, I went out and bought 5k in gift cards. No problem.

My relationship with amex goes back 10 years though

Thanks. I got a couple new Amex cards for upcoming travel after not being a cardholder with them for years, so I'm treading carefully.

I need to do about $1,750 on my Amex cards. Hoping to either load gift cards to my Bluebird (which I've had for years) or use the gift cards to buy money orders at WM or elsewhere.

With the new chip system implemented, does anyone know if the holdup at the end of a large transaction the processing of the payments as a batch, or the activation of the VGCs?

It usually takes 2-3 mins for me for a 19 card purchase.

As answered many many times throughout this thread, there is no category bonus for any card at Simon Mall. It's standard 1x (w/e that equates to your card) on every single credit card.
