I just moved to a Kroger location so idk all the ins and outs - but that coupons says you have to purchase two gift cards totaling over 50...so if you only bought one gc that's why it didn't work

Anyone have any good suggestions on how to maximize fuel points at Kroger when there is not a 4x going on?
Buying the 100s would be about $25-30 for 1000 points - not really worth it. Even with current 5 off coupon still not that great of a deal. Anyone figure out a workaround?
Disclaimer: I Just moved into a Kroger location - so I'm just trying to catch up on Kroger stuff lol

There was a January promo so I banked points for February. There was another one in early March, so I banked for April. The Easter promo ran into April, so I banked for May. It is typically easy for me as my truck can take 28 gallons in a fill up and I carry two cans to get the extra seven in the tank at a later date. I usually only fill up twice a month, so 2000 points a month is all I need.
I also avoid the VGC since I can usually use enough Amazon, HD/Lowes, restaurant and other fee free cards. I also will pick up BP $50 cards to cover road trips where Kroger is not around or those times it is just not convenient to get there. Since I am netting 20% (14% gas points and 6% Amex BCP) I don't mind losing the 5% cash back my PenFed card gives, plus the BP card gives the cash price instead of credit price most stations around here charge.

Does anyone have a copy of the recent corporate memo. The manager at my local go-to store is now saying cash only for any variable gift card purchase.

I tried to sneak through a Green Dot Visa prepaid at Ralph's today but was told this one's cash only - apparently hard coded. No problem paying CC for the $500 US Bank VGC.

Wow. What a saga. Short version - don't bother faxing in the info. Just call the number on the gift card activation receipt.
I faxed all of the documents in on the 16th. They told me 7-10 days. I called a couple of times to try to see if they had received my documents but no one would give me an answer.
Called back on the 30th, after a full 10 business days. Was told they would "escalate" the call, and that I should receive a call back in 48 hours. No call back ever received.
Called back AGAIN on the 6th. Again told I would receive a call back in 48hrs. Again, no call back received.
Called to follow up on the 10th and said that there were no notes on the account (apparently "escalation" sometimes chooses to leave notes rather than call back) indicating that my fax had never been received. I have the confirmation - so I know that isn't true. They probably just lost or deleted it by mistake or something.
Called the Ralph's store - they had no idea what I was talking about.
Found the number on the activation slip and the woman was TREMENDOUSLY helpful. She looked up the cards, verified my payment method, called Visa to confirm that it was OK to activate the card, asked me to send her a copy of my receipt and the front and back of the cards. After review, while neither card had activated properly, one had also been tampered with before purchase. She activated the one card that had not been tampered with, and set me up with all the info needed to get a replacement card for the one that had been tampered with. In the end, the phone call took about 45 minutes. I have 1 card activated and can run to the store to replace the other one.
Thanks for the suggestion to call! Much easier!

Just figured I would follow up on this - don't mean to spam this thread but it's really been a pain.
So I was able to get the one card activated and the other card replaced. Then I went to WM to unload both of them. The replaced card worked fine. The older activated card has somehow been demagnetized. It would not swipe on the kiosk or at the register. So, after all that it looks like I may have to bite the bullet and pay the fee to unload via Evolve or something.

My go-to just went cash only. Walked in, looking to do a couple K, as the manager was walking around the lanes quizzing associates on what could be paid with cash or debit.
