I was curious because the sign at my store only showed a few gift cards such as Kohls, Macys, Loews, and a couple more and said participating gift cards only. I tested it with a $25 amazon (which wasn't listed) and got the 4x so you're probably right and its business as usual with everything but the Variable cards.

Instead of faxing everything in and hoping for the best, call the number on the kroger gift card receipt!!

If infact it wasn't activated correctly, they will be able to resend the activation signal and activate it for you instantaneously over the phone. If instead there was an attempted use on the card before you purchased it (VERY common), they will be unable to activate it for you, but they will give you a case number and tell you to go into the store and at the store they will be able to give you a new giftcard. Just did this the other day for two cards and within an hour everything was fixed.

I live in SoCal, where we have Ralphs. I went to the Ralphs website to look for the 4x gas gift card promo coupon, and it's not there. I then went to the Kroger website and was able to add the coupon using my Ralphs login info. Am I safe to assume that I should be able to get the 4x at Ralphs?

Anybody had experience with buying VGC with BB GC lately?

I bought four $100 fixed VGC today at Smiths (in Utah). I got the 4x fuel points on them.

Just coming back from Ralph's and the 2 guys at the checkout said something about no longer CC for GC. Were these dudes just sleeping in the meeting or could there be something more to that story? It worked for me at the very same store just this Sunday...

Just bought a $100 VGC at Kroger's in MI last night with CC, no problem and 4x fuel points. I already maxed out the 5% grocery bonus on my freedom card.

Dumped it onto a new RB I got for the wife a couple hours later.

Just noticed you can now order gift cards from Kroger online and still earn gas points. The FAQ states you will get 2X or 4X depending on what promotion is in effect the day you buy. You can also get ecerts for many of them.

I just did a test buy of a $15 Amazon emailed certificate 10 minutes ago. There is a field to enter your Kroger card number or alternate ID. The order is still processing so it is not instant like buying direct from Amazon. I'll update when I get the ecert and see how many points hit my Kroger account. The charge hit my Amex as giftcardmall.com, so I'm guessing no bonus categories there for anyone.

I plan on still going to the store since I combine gas points with my 6% Amex BCP, but this could be great if Kroger is not convenient, realize that you forgot to stock up the last day of a promo, or want to actually send a card as a gift that you can't get locally. I notice many restaurants on the list that are not local and carried in my area.

The do have $20-$500 Visa cards for a $3.95 fee plus $2 per shipment over $250 for mail security. Probably not useful for MS unless giftcardmall.com gets you bonus points.

I can confirm that 2 x $100 VGC bought today = $206.90 + 848 fuel points.
Just make sure both digital coupons are loaded on your card before heading out.

Confirmed it works on two $500 variable Mastercards.

but I'm wondering how exactly it works or what the limitations are. the T&Cs say: Limit one coupon per transaction per day.

does that mean only one $5 discount per day? or only one discount per transaction but you can do as many transactions as you want?

when i (with good reason) ..... about people doing stupid things that kill/harm deals, there is invariably a 'well then leave FT' snarky reply from someone who doesn't understand the reality of 'loose lips sink ships'.

an example of what this community is still good for is things like this: someone (David) bothering to check something i would have NEVER checked, and saving me and others money by posting it. it's been a long time since i've seen a double dip opportunity at K. as i was walking out to MS some fuel points i quick checked FT and saw this thread on the front page- good thing. i won't get a lot of use as i'll be overseas, but my family and the guy who does the yard at my property will be thrilled- he ALWAYS gets the full 35 gallons value. i get a month of service 'free' and he makes more in fuel savings than he charges me- the perfect win/win i'm always looking for.
