The point is buying reloadit with cc and loading as a savings. The csr told me 1500 every 24 hours via reloadit so I'll try more tomorrow.

I've found a store near me that appears to be ok with repeated loads of $496.05 onto my Netspend card ($3.95 fee). Does anyone know what the load limits are (just using regular variable load VGCs)? I tried looking through the FAQs on the website, but couldn't find this question answered. Also, I tried calling Netspend customer service but the guy could barely speak English.

My MO route may die, so looking for an alternative to at least do some spend...

Anyone ever try a Netspend load of more than $500 using multiple debit cards? Just curious if its even possible and if it is possible is the fee assessed for each devit card or just 1 time for the entire transaction.

Is anybody using this just for the high interest savings account feature? I have no desire to MS with this card but would be interested in using it as a saving account.

I do, and many on FW Finance and Doctor of Credit do. I have never loaded a Netspend with a reload card as the supermarkets in my area were always cash only even in the golden days of MS.

I do. Only use savings feature. No problems so far.

Thanks calwatch and reubenfairbird. I had a netspend card a few years ago and never used it. The local to Texas grocery chain offers a fee free load version of the netspend card and say you can use debit to load.

Anyone have a datapoint on whether one can load more than $500 on Netspend at a time? IE. 3 $500 VGCs - 3.95 fee = 1496.05 load

You can load any version you want at the chain you're referring to. I don't MS with any of the Netspend variants but it has made things more convenient when trying to dump VGC's.

I was only using NetSpend for the high interest savings, but with the change to only paying 5% for balances under $1000 it is not as valuable.
Effective July 1, 2016 (the “Effective Date”), we are making the following changes to your Savings Account associated with your NetSpend® Visa® Prepaid Card Account:

1. We are changing the minimum Average Daily Balance requirements to receive the interest rates applicable to your Savings Account to the following:

• For an Average Daily Balance of $1,000.00 or less, the interest rate paid on the entire balance will be 4.91% with an Annual Percentage Yield (APY) of 5.00%.

• For an Average Daily Balance that is more than $1,000.00, the interest rate paid on the portion of the Average Daily Balance which exceeds $1,000.00 will be 0.49% with an APY of 0.50%, and the interest paid on the portion of the Average Daily Balance which is $1,000.00 or less will be 4.91%. The APY for this tier will range from 5.00% to 0.54%, depending on the balance in the Savings Account.

Do you know if there is a fee for regular netspend cards at HEB? I have one HEB with free loading and got one regular today. If not I guess I will find out in a couple of days.

Thanks

Question about the Netspend cards. Can you send money to yourself from card a to card b? I just opened a second card and it wouldn't let me. I don't know if that is because the second card has to be open a minimum time or if it doesn't allow same person to same person transfer.

Thanks,
