Like I said earlier, I feel like running them as debit would be less likely to be rejected by the cashier because they do not have to type in the last four.

The only GC I bought at CVS was a Vanilla MasterCard Gift Card in the amount of $475 as a DEBIT transaction. $24 was issued back to the card just under 48 hours later which combined with the unspent $20 left on the Five Back VGC added up to $44. I'm planning on taking that and five other Five Back VGC back to a local Simon to consolidate into one new Simon Five Back VGC which I'll likely just liquidate via a MO at S&S or WM. If I could use easily get a MO at Kmart with the consolidated card and get another $7-10 back I would, but it's more miss than hit there IME using VGCs for MOs.

My local Kmart categorically refused to take debt for MO. Cash only :td:

I only have two in my area and for me it's not worth the drive there if I can't guarantee that I'll be able to get a MO with them. I'll still pick some up since I can buy some gift cards from a few of the restaurants in the Five Back program in my area that I dine at frequently or that I'll give as gifts during the holidays.

My understanding is the 24hr limit is $2k in vGc purchases. I did a transaction of 1k then another 500 at store A. License was swiped for both transactions but when I tried to do another 500 at store B, after the cashier swiped my dl she couldn't proceed. Is the 2k limit inclusive of the 4.95 purchase fee?

It's been a while since I have bought these Gc at CVS....

No, it's $2k in VGC value.

Then why couldn't I do the additional 500?

I didn't buy any yesterday and only loaded 3*500 this morning.

Midwest too, I just used my 2x FB and staples rebate.

2nd swipe must finish.... doesnt that mean you can still split with 2?

...or buy 4x $495 one by one worst case.

Tried to convert the 5x FB into 2x VGC, first swip worked, the second caused the transaction aborted, the cashier told me that the system has been updated today, No more split payments, then we tried it again, the same aborted transaction.

so was it two swipe limit, or just one swipe? This can be worked around either way as long as daily limit stays the same with 500 denomination cards, but makes the 200 FB pretty useless.

not sure, since I was buying 2x500 VGC. Will try to do one $395 VC card next time.

I used 3 swipes in one transaction as credit at 1:30 PM CST in Midwest yesterday to buy 2x500 VGCs and it still worked. Will try today again.
