Thanks

I've been buying multiples many times and never had a freeze until 1st one today later in the evening when buying only one card. But around noon there was no freeze when buying 4 in one transaction with different ID. I know what wiki says but this looks odd. People are hitting CVS hard now more than ever I think.

One transaction of three cards. No issue with splits; the FB's autodrain.

Do you run them as credit or debit for the autodrain? I had a cashier who couldn't figure out how to split payment. I think I tried to autodrain with credit but that didn't work. I don't think we tried it as debit.

I always run as debit and it autodrains them.

I think it can autodrain as credit too but I always tell csr to do solit payment and they're used to me doing that before these FBs became available.

Good to know that it will autodrain as debit too, that way I dont have to give them last 4 of card. Less keystrokes for CSRs.

That's why I do it too - lower risk of them asking to see the card(s).

You got the 5% back with 2 days when run as debit?

Generally no - call in once I get a handful and open a ticket, usually get it within 24 hours after calling. Weakest link in my chain though is finding willing/oblivious CVS cashiers who will sell VGC with VGC, so I'm willing to put up with that extra step to make the transactions go more smoothly.

Thanks bodiddey.

The 3 cards I ran as debit yesterday (around 2pm) have the 5% today and the one as Credit no CB. I'll be going again today or tomorrow.

Got a daily $2K limit reached on DH DL today when trying to buy a second OV - we know for sure he has not gone over the rolling 24 hours limit. It was actually on the 26th hour already when the system spit out this message.

On top of that we went together yesterday and we bought the same amounts at same stores we dropped by. No such message on my DL but it popped up on his.

Good to hear that you got the FB ran as debit, I was a little hesitant when bodiddey said he had to call in for debit transactions.

I have no problems so far running as credit but am willing to try debit.

Someone posted before that the FB for credit usually posts by 48 hours.

I've ran all mine as credit and no problem with the FB.

I am not willing to spend the time with the calling thing. Look forward to more feedback on the DEBIT auto posting the 5% back. Right now my local store is more than happy (its small) to run 4x$495 one at a time every day till the cows come home as credit.

dogbyte Dec 8, 2016 8:21 pm

Anybody run into issues where the cards were not being auto drained? I tried using them and it said alternate form of payment required.

Wendigo Dec 9, 2016 1:08 am

The deal with debit and credit seems to be that if you split transactions with debit you likely won't see CB. Gotta call and open a ticket. If you use debit on individual purchases it seems to post CB.

Credit posts either way, but you're signing the screen 4-5 times and rattling off the last four digits over and over.

Obviously, running debit is quicker and more subtle. So YMMV.

Otherwise, I'd encourage you all to experiment and be the data point you'd like to know.
