Sorry if this has been answered before, but what's the best way of liquidating OVGCs (OneVanilla from CVS)?
- Serve isn't an option. - MOs from other grocery stores might work, but not possible at WM? - Evolve? - I know BB/Kate @ WM is an option if you're patient (drain in $50 increments), but that's not for me. I'm already maxing RB and PP Mycash. Walmart is nogo for OVs. No working kates anywhere near me. I've found the MO route is dying a slow & painful death at all of my 'go to' sources. They are either refusing MO purchase from non-bank sources (cashier has to swipe the card now) or they are massively reducing the daily limits (1 MO per person per day, only 1 payment source per MO). I need other ways to scale this back up to $12 k- $20k/mo or so. |
Stopped at a local shop today that I've purchased PP MyCash at before. I don't do it very often because I don't find it to be worthwhile except for when I need to restock on groceries at Sam's Club (I don't have any decent MC CCs for MS and they only accept MC so I load some MyCash to use my PPBDMC).
They didn't have any but it looked as though they weren't going to be carrying them anymore. The old areas they used to be in had no empty card hangers for them, no signs or barcodes for them anywhere. I asked the front desk where they were and the kid said "Oh the Green Dots are changing". I said not Green Dot, PP MyCash. He replied that he'd never even heard of those. I thought that was strange, has anyone else seen anything to suggest PP MyCash is going away at CVS? |

See my post 2 above yours. PP MyCash is apparently part of green dot and they are going to a reload method that does away with the reload cards. It remains to be seen if we can still use a CC with the new method. I believe I read about it on Dr of Credit or on frugal hack.me blogs.

I mainly do MS for bonus miles (1.5 miles/$1 spent) and the places I can get MO in my area has slowly dwindled down to barely 1 or 2 places. Not really seeing a reason to keep going to CVS but if someone sees something I'm missing please PM me. Otherwise I am going to investigate the Simon mall that's in my city finally...

I've never considered PP part of the GD family. When RA started putting up notices that GD products were no longer sold with credit card, I was still able to buy PPMC.

My go to store had that happen around late december. All pp gone and the gift card rack they were on were filled with other giftcards in its place. 2 weeks later a whole stack of pp showed up again in a different location. |
Yeap...same story at my CVS that used to be flush with PP Mycash (and VRs of-course ever since that went cash only). They told me that all those product were taken off the rack.

Oh man...Another avenue is closing. Paypal Cash cards will be cash only at both Rite Aid and CVS.

What I've noticed at my local CVS is it just takes them quite a while (upwards of a month sometimes) to reload their PPMC inventory. For that reason, I tend to hide 4 of them behind another set of gift cards to hold me over when they are out. :-)

Apologies if this has been reported before. Today I had a really weird partial charge happen at my CVS. I bought PPMC to load for US$500, and two small items. The total was about US$510.xx. I used my CSP credit card to pay. No ID was scanned, but then it seemed to take longer than normal to approve. When it did approve, it only charged the card US$96.xx, with a balance due of US$413.xx. Both the cashier and I were perplexed. Where did that 96.xx figure come from? Anyway, I swiped my card again, and the 413.xx charge went through. I called Chase immediately, and the rep said nothing was wrong with my card (no fraud watches), no blocks or anything on my card and she couldn't figure out why there would only be a partial charge.
When I went home, my PPMC loaded OK, thank goodness. All US$500 of it. Anyone ever seen this partial charge before? |

Is 96xx the last four digits of your CSP card?

Has this been seen before? Is it human error or programmatic?
