Maybe. I'm in MA, and it's happened at both of my local CVS' multiple times within the past week. Any others with similar issues to report?

I finally just had the clerk ring up 1 card per transaction so I could start buying again, since the freeze seems to happen only after the DL scan for the second card.

things have been working a-ok in TX... had some hiccups the week of 10/27 but even with ID scan @ $300, things resolved themselves soon after... good to be back to ID scan @ $1k.

It's been happening to me as well in MA. Having the clerk ring them up one at a time seems to work fine, but I have also told the clerks to type in my drivers license number manually. That doesn't freeze the register and I am able to put them all on one transaction. It seems to be hit or miss whether or not the cashier will know how to do it.

Thanks for the advice.

Then again, ringing up each card as a separate transaction may not be so bad, since it has allowed me to purchase over the daily limit with a single store visit.

Does CVS auto reorder when they run out of certain gift cards? I emptied the store I started with about three months ago, no signs of refills. Should I ask them to reorder?

FTR 787 Nov 11, 2014 10:59 pm

yeah lately my CVSs have become lax about reordering and keeping their racks filled unfortunately :/

I suppose the $2k limit mitigates this somewhat... but not a good sign when it keeps dwindling with no refills for weeks.

Has anyone used AX @ CVS?

Assuming my mind reading skills are working and I understand what you mean by the abbreviation "AX," I seem to recall something along the lines of 1000 posts throughout the MS forum saying either yes, no or YMMV. If I've misunderstood what you meant by AX let me know. That or you could just RTFW.

yes, right after I got my CBs for Sept, I resumed my buying spree there. I'm prepared for worse case scenario but for now, I'm back to business as usual.

i did until the cashiers told me to take it home instead and stop making the toiletries aisle smell like a middle school boys' locker room.

Well I feel like an idiot.

Last Friday I went to CVS to buy seven VGC's. I took seven to the counter and was informed the new limit was four (after the fifth card wouldn't scan). Long story short, it seems the cashier gave me one of the unactivated cards which means a $500 activated card is sitting on the shelf in that store if nobody bought it. I swear I thought she gave me the right cards but I know, I should have matched the numbers on the receipt with the numbers on the package, but I didn't.

Does anybody know if I go into the store and find a card with a package that has numbers matching the activation numbers on my receipt if the store can check to see if it was activated (because there could be more than one card with those four digits)? It was a CVS...

I assume you just found that out? Otherwise it's been a week and you haven't either checked the store again or contacted Incomm, which seems very odd.

Anyway I would try both and probably report card lost with Incomm first.
