I see in the Wiki that transactions over $300 require ID, however can I use my brother's card (same last name) with my ID?

Ya...because the cashier will not notice that you have different first names. Are you serious?!?! Please tell me what you were joking.

$300 ID threshold?
Around 22OCT, my local CVS, like most locations nationwide, started asking for ID after scanning the first $500 OV. However, on my last four visits (starting around 30OCT) my usual clerk got prompted to scan my ID after the second $500 OV -- just as it was for the many months pre-22OCT.
So, is the ID threshold at some locations back to $1000? |

So, is the ID threshold at some locations back to $1000? last week at 1 cvs store my ID was scaned for $500 (cashier showed me the screen) and yesterday at other store I was ready with my ID, but she did not ask. Cashiers at both stores knew me. |
I bought 1500 at 6pm saturday and then at 5:30 Sunday I tried to buy $1500 at another store. The guy looked at the screen funny and said he had never seen this error but I had reached my $2000 limit for the day. I said oh yeah got some yesterday and just bought 500. I didn't know about the rolling 24hrs, now I do

Actually, on many occasions I have shown my ID and then swiped my a CC with my wife's name on it. Never had a problem. Of course, this is at a CVS I regularly visit and where they know me. So at this point, they barely even look at what I'm handing them.

CVS master thread
Can't you just ask them to pay, let's say, 250 on 1 swipe and 250 on the next?

It's crazy, but I accidentally pulled out my son's AU card and the cashier asked me "Who's Fred*?" "My minor son." (I'm female). "Oh," he said, "ok" and swiped it. I was floored, but happy. I wanted those points. They might know me there, I have a distinctive last name. I certainly know most of the CVS cashiers in my small town, from the VR days. *Name changed |

not sure what you are trying to accomplish, but if its to avoid DL scan, ithas nothing to do with payment, but rather the transaction level. You have to scan the DL before even scanning any forms of payment, which means it is also necessary for those that pay cash.

I haven't had to run my ID for $500 last couple days. I've been wondering too.
My ID wasn't scanned for single $500's today or yesterday. |
