Actually it hasn't. Plus, I have said in other threads how I get free MOs.

Why is it so hard or people to ask for a MO with change added?

One store I go to charges $0.99 for a MO.

I proudly proclaim I want a MO for $499.01. Not a penny goes to waste.

Seriously. Go stand near the MO counter at one of your local establishments and listen to the amount people ask for. Rarely do I ever hear people asking for even dollar amounts.

If you want to feel less suspicious, write down the amount on a scrap of paper and read it off when asked.

Read it off? You mean slip it to them. ;)

Hehe. Yea I got that discrepency too.

What I sometimes do is I plug the math into my phone calculator and just show them the phone. It's easier too when you have such odd numbers.

i don't know how smoothly you guys pull this off but i did a few times the $999.21 MOs. When there is a line behind me with a few people, buying 2 of these with 2 split tenders is a hassle. So i switched to buying 2 MOs with $999 each which sounded like a rounded figure and splitting with 4 cards which seemed to work better.

What?

In what world does that logic make sense or make your purchase seem 'normal'?

...

You're not thinking this through.

So your location charges $0.79 for a MO I presume? Then ask for one for $1000 even and for a second one for $998.42 and to split tender x4...

You wait for them to look confused or get it wrong first. Then....

Yay! I found a store that takes "debit" so I was able to cash out my OVs from last week. Sure it will suck going from $1000 MO for $0.00 to $500 MO for $0.79-$0.89. However, it will be cheaper than the $5.95 GCs at the grocery store and I can split up my purchases (not all at grocery store).

And of course yesterday AFTER I did this, I happened to walk into a store for another reason that sold MOs for $0.69. Not sure of if it's $500 or $1000 max and if they take debit cards/split payments (forgot to ask) but definitely might be another avenue to investigate.

Sorry - I thought this thread was about CVS, not about MOs

If you buy a OV at CVS how do you get rid of the OV? MO is one way.

Made a terrible noob mistake. Mixed up a card that did not accept CC, and I had the cashier cancel the entire transaction. Trouble is that I already signed, and it looks like I paid for my VGC, but the entire transaction was voided.

The VGC have no value, I can't check their balance on the phone, but a hold has posted to my credit card.

Should I expect the hold to drop off eventually? Or will I have to file a dispute with my card issuer?

The hold should come off in a few days.

I did that once. The hold should go off in a day or two.
