That's because it's called "civis." Duh.

Just FYI to help a newbie, a Kate is Walmart kiosk.

Ooooooh, THAT explains it! I've been going to Walmarts asking for Kate, Katie, Catherine and if one is there, handing her my cards, expecting her to load my BB or give me a MO. Never worked right, but since there was a thread about Kates always being broken, I wasn't surprised.

I bought at CVS a VMC for 500 and WM kiosc dud not accept as debit. I went to BART to buy $2 ticket and activate the PIN, Went back to WM and still card not accepted. Any thread on this? Any advice?

Do MC GCs work at the kiosk in the first place? AFAIK..if folks have the MC GC they try to load them at the cashier so that they can do the workaround and not at the kiosk.

Did you do the ATM/debit workaround with the Vanilla MC at the kiosk? You do know that just because you don't have to do the workaround for the Vanilla VGC at the kiosk doesn't mean you don't have to still do the workaround for ANY MC GC. Try doing the workaround at the WM kiosk for the VMC and maybe that will work?

There is no workaround at the kiosk, it either works or it doesnt.... The only time one would want to load at a cashier instead of a kiosk is if there is none or its down....

Read the wiki in the Visa/MC PIN thread, and figure out what the issuing bank is.

This card is issued by Bancorp Bank. I agree, I don't see any workaround at the Kiosk. I will try to get a OV and load it there to see if the problem comes with all Bancorp or only this particular card brand. Unfortunately at this location not only they don't accept GC for BB or MO but they also make a big fuzz when I try to do it.
I'll check wiki

I see, I check wiki, but it addresses the issue indirectly. US Bank-Bancorp. apparently is a known issue. A day before, I loaded a MCGC I bought at a grocery store but I think is the kind GCM sells and I am pretty sure is issued by a different bank.

Is it just me or everyone else seeing reduced availability of VGC with $4.95 fee in CVS? I see a lot with 5.95 fee but hardly any with 4.95.

I have 4 CVS in my proximity and 3 of them has this issue... In the past never seen this. Always plenty of 4.95 were available.

My CVS has had an abundance of VGCs for months. The OVs have gone dry upon occasion, but not the VGCs. Since they never ran out, I haven't bothered going to the other 2 CVS stores in Madison, which have $1K limits, anyway.

I did note yesterday that they were down to less than 20 of the gold packages.

When did the other 2 go to $1k? (I don't get out there that frequently)

I have not noticed this, but I have noticed a huge decline in the availability of OVs.
