Right, so the "Yes" answers include, for example, VR, which now you will have no problem finding, the racks are full of them for some reason!

Did you buy any VRs today? Hear they are great to load BB.

There are no cards that you can buy at CVS with a credit card that can be loaded to Bluebird at Walmart.

Thanks for confirming my finding- hoped I was missing something...

OV's removed from a store

I stopped by my closest 3-letter pharmacy this evening, to pick up some OV's. This store's gc rack is usually overflowing with them. Instead I witnessed a disturbing sight -- all slots holding the OV's were stripped bare while the rest of the rack is well stocked, including loads of VGC's like "congrats" or "happy holidays". The same situation is on the backup rack, where not a single OV was left by accident. WTH could that possibly mean?
Are they being recalled to be replaced with pin-less version?

It was too late in the evening to check other stores, but I'll try to do it tomorrow.

I thought so too, but was surprised to find no other confirming reports yet. So should probably wait for more data points.

For starters they can't legally do this unless they start issuing all cards as Amex. They have to have a PIN by Federal law.

Second, the other Vanilla cards work just as well as OVs. They're just more conspicuous if you look at the face of the card.

Or maybe you're right and the sky is falling.

Thanks for the data point! And no, sharing an experience/asking for comments does not always indicate undue stress or falling sky. ;)

There were reports a few weeks ago, that recent series of VGC's had problems with PIN's. I can't find now who posted them, but I took them as credible.

Not a law. PIN implementation was recommended b/c of a Federal Reserve interpretation.

Because of Dodd-Frank. Unless the want to file a lawsuit over it it's the same thing as being Federal law.

Only real diff btwn OVs and the VGCs is $1.00 higher fee, right?

Man RIP OVs to WM :-( Makes the game a lot harder since I could walk into CVS, buy $5k OVs, and keep moving. No one bats an eye or if they do, it's just in astonishment of the amount of money I am spending. Grocery stores though, you can only buy so many before needing a manager override and having people want to fill out SARs on you...etc. :-( Oh well. Just wanted to vent for a second. This in no way deters me from the game though!

They're both $4.95. The only ones that are $5.95 are the ones with a bunch of extra glitter on the package.

My pharm closest to me never has OVs either. I think people just buy only those up and they never restock. I went to the longer named pharm and they've always had OVs no problem.
