So, I screwed up. I bought some OV's from CVS before I read the updated "Incomm/WM" issues thread.

I can't find anyone in my local area (Metro Boston) that will let me buy MO's with the OV's.

It looks like I have two options at this point:
1) Liquidate them via regular spending
2) Try to use them at CVS to buy a non-Incomm debit card and take it back to WM.

Any other options that I'm missing here? Please feel free to PM me.

What non-Incomm gift cards are you guys able to find? I went to 4 stores over the past two days and EVERYTHING was all Vanilla all the time.

Maybe regional, but none of the supermarkets round here have Vanilla, all Metabank or US Bank. Walgreens and CVS have Vanilla. So, nice market place divide!

Along the same line, you can probably get your reload of choice in a lot of places with debit.

I went to CVS this morning and bought 3500 of OVCs and the receipt now says "Prepaid Card Activation Will Occur Within 24 Hours". Called the # on the back and they are not activated immediately like usual. Definitely was not like this on Thurs when I bought some and those were immediately activated

This has happened occasionally to me and others.

Just wait 24 hours.

I bought 2000 this morning and received the same message. First time I have ever seen anything like that on my receipt. Hope this isn't a new policy.

I know it sucks, but I'm glad its not just me. Must be an issue with the communication between INCOMM and CVS. I will give it until tomorrow morning and then call them up.

Yes, I can see it could be popular as a policy, giving more time for cards to reported stolen, and making it harder for ML-types to quickly dispose of the cards. But lets hope not!

It shouldn't be any "new" policy. I had that same situation happen when I purchased VR several months ago and occasionally since then. Not had it yet on OV.

I'm guessing it has something to do with Incomm - system/activation issues or something like that.

The three or so times it happened it did take near 24 hours to activate - but activate they did.

A 24 hour wait would be just good policymaking.

Had happened to me once...but the difference was the person who helped me was "trainee" vs regular known employee.
