Oh my, what an interesting MS week for me... My go to CVS had a new manager that said cash only when I went to purchase. I asked him if it was a new policy and he just sort of stared at me blankly. Then he said well let me give it a try. I hit yes to the "Fraud Alert" question and then he said he couldn't. He showed me a sentence that popped up on his terminal but I only had a coupe of seconds to read. Wish I could have taken a picture of the popup. No clue if it said credit and/or debit card on the list. Will try a different CVS tomorrow.

Went to a Bay Area CVS store I've used this month to convert my SM FB VBCs to Vanillas again. Cashier asked to see my cards before ringing up, and asked her coworker if it was okay. Other guy said that I can't "buy gift cards with gift cards" according to store policy. When asked if it's a new policy, he said it's always been in effect.

Whatever, my other CVS location is still cool. I get rung up by a manager half the time there and never get told no. Their POS did decline one of four FB VGC cards today though, with no evidence of a transaction on the card issuer's side. Random issue I guess.

Has anyone that the newer Vanilla VGCs dont have a barcode and none of the numbers match thr packaging?

The older VVGCs have a 'hole' in the packaging so when CSRs scans the barcode, its thr barcode on the card.

The newer ones, barcode is on packaging.

Do you buy all in one transaction or break them up one by one?

I buy them all in one transaction $2000 a day. 5 swipes. 4x$500 + fees

Splitting payment in 500s is a big red flag!

CVS stores in my area are cracking down on asking to see the debit card being used to buy GCs. Last month I was asked to see my card at maybe one of out five stores. In the last week I've been asked 90% of the time. One CSR told me that corporate sent out emails insisting that they see all debit and credit cards for any type of GC transaction, but he wouldn't show me anything that said such when I asked.

all of the CSRs at my CVS know me, I'm probably there at least 3x a week if not more, and I usually do split payment. With the FBs I started with doing 1, then went all they way to 3 per transaction. I don't let it auto drain but tell them $500 on each swipe.

No problems so far.

One transaction of three cards. No issue with splits; the FB's autodrain.

2/2 for CVSs in my area. I still have 2 more that I haven't tried which are very close to me but less convenient. Both locations ask to see the card but don't care that it says prepaid.

Wife and I doing 4x$495 OV each - each day with SM 5 backs with no issues. Plan to do 100k+ during month. Loving the no fee buys this week! :-)

Anyone know if other IDs will work at CVS to workaround 24hr clock ie Global Entry card bar code?

when I had the WF card, I created a barcode for my passport.

Thanks for input very much. Please explain barcode for passport. I know how to make a bar code but in no way want to tamper with my Passport. Thinking about Passport card and have GE card. I want more IDs of ME to be clear.

Is anybody having an error message after the DL is scanned? Trying to buy $500 OV...after they scan my id, the register goes into thinking mode and then there is a message that the card cannot be sold.
