LOL. Seen so many complaints on this forum about noobs jumping in too quick and ruining it for the rest, so I take my time to educate myself, and then you say I should have jumped in earlier.

You played it right. It is important to be sure you know what you are doing before you make a move. So sorry the timing was not right for you on this one.

Today was at my local CVS that normaly does not have any VR. Now they probably have 100 or so. PLUS they have big signs for SERVE and NetSpend. What a difference a couple of weeks make.

Went to CVS get 2 OV the other day. Saw the post about someone used razor opens it up and glue it. so I kind of very careful to look at package before purchase, I don't see anything wrong with the ones I pick. at check out, somehow the 2nd card doesn't ring through so the clerk gets another card to finish the transaction. the clerk chat with me a bit after purchase until next customer to check out. because of that chat, I forgot to verify the last 4 digits of activation on receipt to match the card I have right at that moment. while i stop in traffic, I think about it and verify it. the 2nd card that doesn't match. go back to store. was wondering if it somehow activates the card that first time scanned. go through all OVs, not seeing it. CVS called OV bank to put stop payment on that 2nd card. was told they will refund money back to CVS, not to customer. so now I have to dispute the charge with my CC, for half of them. I don't know how long this mess can really be resolved. Be aware about this. even if you have carefully inspect the package, something can still happen. At this point, I think the clerk gets me a package that has been opened by someone.
The gist of the story is that when leaving the cash register with less vgc than what you brought to there, make sure the numbers match before leaving. |
Always match last 4 digits of the VGC/OV cards to the activation receipt. Happened to me once with VR and I caught it at store itself.

So often newcomers are lambasted for jumping in too soon without actually understanding what they are doing. You did exactly what you should have done, the timing just didn't line up on this one. But there will always be new deals! |
Ok there are 3 Walmarts near me, and only one takes credit cards to purchase gift cards. I guess it is up to each Walmart? Strange. Definitely easier to buy at CVS (shorter line, etc) and upload at WM, but would be nice to do both at WM.

But knew VR could be loaded to BB at WM. Heard they can not any more . Can OV be loaded onto BB at WM . is it YMMV ? Heard I can get MO at WM. Bought a bunch of them when I saw them . Can I just swipe without a pin like a regular GC What other way to get rid of OV and where . Thanks |
Damn I hate CVS' DL scan policy, tried to buy $2k of OVs on Wed. and the stupid POS wouldn't let it go through because the verification system was down. Good thing they're readily available at Rite Aid too, they don't do a scan and don't care how much I get.
I guess worst case at CVS I could go back to my old VR method of buying 2x$499 at a time to avoid the scan. |

Concordian, eh? You're the one that took all the VRs from the CVS by BART! Mind sharing which store(s) you had luck with OV? I promise I won't drain them MO and going to WM are too big a pain for me to do too much of them. |
how times change... stopped by one of my fav CVS last night and damn the VGC/OV racks drying up hella quick... ofc the VRs are out there 20-30 deep in multiple rows lol. stark contrast, infact the exact opposite from last month!

How can I use the VGC/OVs? Have been holding off since they've switched to cash only for VR's but I have racks full of VGC/OV....Thanks in advance.

Thanks Yes No, with OV you enter any 4 numbers on first use, and that becomes the pin. You can pay your Visa and MC bills with OV at WM thru CheckFree bill pay. You cannot pay AMEX this way. You can also pay bills like home mortgages and student loans online with Evolve. There is no fee for using Evolve, but not every biller is on their list. You cannot pay ccs with Evolve. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/manuf...y-walmart.html http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/manuf...lve-money.html |
