I went to try this for the first time today and was able to find a CVS a couple miles away and everything went through smoothly. Now I just have to wait for my BB to come in the mail (just signed up yesterday).
This forum has been invaluable. Thanks to every one of you. |

Since when is it $25 to get a new DL? Holy smokes.
Though that was with a fine for waiting until six months after it expired. Since I'm carless, there was no rush. |
I got my very first beans today using my CSP. I do have a Citi Dividend card that has been sitting here for ages and I haven't put charges on it for a while. I tried to buy 2 beans but the card got declined? I used CSP instead and it went through.
Any tips for starting back up a card that's not been used much? 1 Bean only? 1 bean with lower charges? |

Second, before walking into the store to buy your VR's, have the customer service phone number programed into your phone and have it ready to call if you get denied again. If you use the Citi card again, and it gets denied, DO NOT PANIC... Called Citi. this should take about 15=20 seconds to take care of. Then have the clerk run the card again... The phone call in front of the clerk, so they know that the problem has been taken care of. I have had to do this a couple of time, but once a pattern has developed you shouldn't have a problem. |

Picked up 6 beans yesterday (cleaned them out for the week). Cashier noted that "it's nice when the DL scans the first time." They definitely know the drill at this one.

Interesting issue at CVS today. Refused to sell VRs or GCs with cc. Register coded to deny. Asst Mgr came over and told me that 3 nights ago, "corporate" called to run a "test" on VRs. Mgr had to scan VRs that were in store and enter a "code" after each one, such as 49831 and 49832, etc. ($498.31, $498.32, etc.). While he was doing this, other line called from corporate because they had flags go up, and his current caller said to "ignore" it as he was already on the line with "corporate." Mgr continued to scan each VR and enter progressively higher "codes." True corporate finally got a hold of asst. mgr and got it shut down. Long story short, fraudsters somehow got over $20,000 from this scam at this one store. I'm not sure exactly how it worked, but that store is totally shut down for VRs and gcs - cash only. Any ideas how a fraudster could do this?

Long time lurker here. I went today to get some VR and was told cash only and that it was a recent change.
I bought some VR's 21 minutes ago via CC. |
Additional info: The asst mgr said it was for "this store only." Went to the next one on my list and able to purchase VR with credit card. He said it was not a country-wide policy, just for that store.
