Exactly my point. With even two accounts your SSN will have received $24K, which is greater than the $20K trigger point. What do you do then?

It's +20K AND +200 transactions. Both not either/or, unless each of your transactions is smaller than $120.

IRS Reporting Regulations on Third-Party Payment Transactions

Beginning with the 2011 tax year, new Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations require that U.S. third-party settlement organizations and payment processors, including Amazon Payments, file Form 1099-K to report unadjusted annual gross sales or payment volume information for customers who meet both of the following thresholds in a calendar year:

More than $20,000 in gross payment volume, and
More than 200 transactions.

Good point. I may still watch and stay under $20K.

Thank you.

I have used AMEX and citicards before on AP, but I just wanted to make sure the Discover treats as purchases.

ramamosn.

what is the cash advance fee?
if it is a flat % just send yourself $10 and see what happens.

I don't think that I want to find out, just for a mere 4,000 miles (with 2 accts). I will be stopping at 20k points until there are hard confirmations.

Really? A payment processor can 1099-K you for $1, or even one cent. The law is $20,000 AND 200 transactions = mandatory 1099-K. However, they can 1099-K you for any amount [of transactions or dollar amount] they please. This has been covered since 2011 repeatedly on many forums. Do you really not believe us?

I registered a new AP account, but the email verification email is not coming to my email inbox..

Tried several times to resend thru AP site, no effect.

It's been 8 hours or so. Email itself works fine, I tested it.

All my emails from AP go to the spam box.

spam folder is empty, I checked.
All other email comes in no problem.
I need to claim the payment and I cannot do it w/o email verification, dam'it.

Update:

48 hours, no emails from AP.

How can I cancel the transaction? Should I call the Bezos tribe?

I have account A and B.

A and B share the same address, but different name, social and bank account.
Can I use the same credit card on both accounts? then, AP A to B and B to A?

AP does not count as Amazon.com purchases.

Hello,

This coming month (in a 9 days or so) Amazon will be a 5x category on some cards. Will AP work or does it need to be a Amazon.com purchase?

Thanks

It will work with Discover's promotion for online shopping. Any charge processed on the internet counts, including AP.

Can but shouldn't. This is not an exact science, and Amazon is not consistent in how and most importantly how fast they dole out the punishment. You might luck out, but why push the envelope? Better find and throw C into the mix.

AFAIK, sharing CC and emails are the no-no's. You should try getting an AU card with a different cc# (if a business acct), or a virtual card number (Visa, YMMV).
