Has anyone ever experienced disappearance of fund from AP? I had opened an account in July and took a long time verifying the bank. In the meantime, I loaded a couple of $100 visa gift cards onto it without any problem, or so I thought. A month later, I went in to check and my balance is $0! I looked in my email to see if there was any confirmation after gift card was loaded, sort of like BB and there were none. ...?

Has anyone been able to get Discover Secure Online Account numbers to work?

I am trying to meet $3K month spend using 3 different AP accounts and thought I could do this with different Secure #'s from Discover. I tried it twice and it doesn't work.

I called Discover. They say these are unique for each merchant. Issue is Amazon put through a $1 charge to verify the #, this came from "Amazon" merchant #. Then they attempted the true charge and that came from a different Merchant ID for "Amazon Payments". Since it is a different MerchantID, Discover rejects the charge.

I do see on Discover's faq that they say with Amazon you need to use a different secure DiscID each time. This is due to Amazon having several merch ID's. LOL, so you can't even do it once per Secure# on AmazonPay, because they verify with one #, then pay send the charge with another!

Shoot, looks like I will only be able to do $1K/month using AP. I guess another option is to buy GC and then onload those through the AP accounts. I could do the GC through BlueBird as well, but I already plan to be maxed out on that.

Need to meet $3K spend for 6 months to get extra $500.

Are you registering the account with the correct expiration dates, or changing them?

I just add the card to my SO's account and send it. I've never had a problem with this, nor have a couple of coworkers. People who believe this is not a good thing to do, I believe, have no substantiating evidence that this shuts AP accounts down.

Never mind. I saw at mygiftcardmall.com that the value of gift cards still there. I reported them lost and they will be re-delivered. I could have sworn that I loaded them up...

this might be a silly question but i'm gonna ask anyway.

for those of you with more than 1 AP account, have you ever associated and used the same CC in more than 1 of those accounts to send $1k in the same month?

I have done it once. I recommend doing it occasionally only though.

Have done it a couple times without any problem, but the last time it was done the payment remained pending for several hours before it went through.

Hello,

This coming month (in a 9 days or so) Amazon will be a 5x category on some cards. Will AP work or does it need to be a Amazon.com purchase?

Thanks

Nope, different merchant codes, won't work.

that is usually due to the amount sent and is a security check based on the card and amount sent. I do not think it has anything to do with the same card on two accounts. I have never used the same card on 2 accounts and will get that delay from time to time. Ways to avoid that delay is to send multiple smaller payments.

Of note, AP is a great tool to send $1k of free MS per month. With most sign up requirements needing an average of $1k per month or under, I think there is little reason to need to use the same credit card on 2 accounts. That being said, do what you wish. I just feel there is little to gain but possibly a lot to risk.

There are reports of success last year with Dividend. I will give it a shot.

Don't panic. It sounds to me like you added the VGCs as a payment method, and, as such, they should show up like any other credit card. The card balance should still be on the cards themselves. Adding them as a funding source wouldn't transfer the card balance to Amazon. Have you checked the balance on the cards themselves?
