It all felt very temporary? Perhaps a test? It was so much dramatically faster a transfer. ^

Yes, exactly. I turned left after walking from the Z wing that is restricted to US-bound flights, following the signs, and came across a temporary sign post in the middle of the concourse. Where before you would keep going, out of security along with foot traffic bound for baggage claim, and then circle back around to the Z Skyline station for a transfer to B non-airside, instead I found this temporary sign across from Z11. Turn left to go to Schengen passport (and A), turn right to go down the stairs to the tarmac and a bus transfer to a bus gate in B.

I've also noticed most flights from the UK are arriving at ANS or B gates. Many morning flights from the UK used to arrive at AEUW but I haven't seen any for a while. Instead AEUW seems to be used for US arrivals.
Good news for some but not so good news for others.

Hey! So I'm flying Lufthansa for the first time next week and I'm trying to figure out which part of Frankfurt airport I'll be in. Usually I've been able to find approximate gate information for other airlines in the past. My ticket information just has this vague reference to Terminal 1. My flights are from Billund-Frankfurt, Frankfurt-Naples with a 4hr40 layover. I'm trying to make some plans for what to do with that layover so I'm trying to figure out what exactly I'll have access to during that time and if I'll go through security again... so, any ideas where I'd be able to find out which gates (A, Z, B, C, D, E? I've never been there - I have no idea which gates are Schengen or likely connecting Billund and Naples)? Or, better yet, anyone who has flown these routes have an idea which gates they typically arrive in and depart from? I feel like I'm missing something when I've been trying to find information about this.

Lufthansa uses T1 and it's not always possible to know in advance which concourse will be used. Besides they all connect to a single point landside anyway, so for arriving nor departing passengers it makes no difference.
In your case you'll be doing Schengen to Schengen, in all probability A to A, possibly bus gates for A.
Unless you get lost, you shan't need go through security.
Not sure what your plan would be, it's too short to go to the city I'd say, but if you want to see if you can access like PriorityPass lounges, T2 is readily available at the cost of transfer security check, and possibly passport check depending on whether you go for the Skyy Lounge.

I'd prefer to avoid any unnecessary additional security and passport checks if possible (saving page space).

Thanks! I know I'll have access to a fair amount lounges as far as I can tell. I have Priority Pass and I'm flying in business as a Star Alliance Gold member. It's mostly a matter of which side of the airport I'll be on (and if I can chase down anywhere for a rather necessary last minute pedicure because I'll have the time during the layover but not in the days before flying).

Either way if you are *G in J there is 0 worth in your going to T2.
So it's a question of where exactly will your flight will arrive and leave from, I'll hazard a guess at leaving from A, arrival, probably a bus gate, A or B... either way. Between A and B use the tunnel, NOT the train and you should be fine without transfer security.
Don't know about pedicure, but lounge you have a choice of any Lufthansa Senator or Business lounge that works well for you. Presumably Senator in A will be optimal.

No stamps in the automatic machines (assuming you are EU citizen).

[Assuming you are a non-EU passport holder ([b]hence your concern about space saving)], you will not go through border checks travelling from Denmark to Italy via Germany, your passports won’t even be checked at the gate in FRA (it will in NAP on your way back, though).

Good to know at about NAP. I'm not into surprise stamps given the rate I go through passports these days. The joys of being a US citizen residing in both Denmark and the UK with more residency visas on the way... oof. Now to scour the airport website for shops and services for that pedicure because I know I can't get one in BLL... I appreciate the info! Will keep the tunnel in mind. Thanks a million!

As others have already said you are likely to arrive and depart in A or possibly B Schengen. The best lounge for you is the Senator Lounge between the duty free shops and A50 which is better than business lounges though the Business Lounge above gate A26 is nice and convenient if your flight departs from A24-42 gates. Note that there is no lounge near B Schengen departure gates.
Check the first post also to find which are bus gates.

Can't you go to this place if pedicure is what you want? It's in A but looks landside so you will have to clear security afterwards.

You must be one of the very few people, if not the only one in this forum, who think the tunnel is nice. It’s commonly known as the tunnel of horror.
