Only tip I can provide is to clear immigration near Z25. Never much of a wait there.

I'm flying into Z22 with a one hour connection at A36
Is it a relatively quick route? The wiki says Z gates are above the A gates, any tips would be great
Edit: I'm assuming there will be passport control as I'm entering the EU, is there anything else to expect? Another one for flying from FRA -> CDG? Security?

As far as I know Z25 passport control is only open at certain times of the day.
After passport control (either near Z13 or Z25) go downstairs and you will be in the A departure area. Assuming you are arriving from the US, UK, Canada or Singapore, there is no need to re-clear security.

Bear in mind that both arrival and departure gates can and do change on the day of travel.

Oh, is there anywhere I can find out if Z25 passport control will be open? I arrive at like.. 8am

Perfect! I’m on LH471! Thanks for the info, and I guess after passport control, just grab an elevator down a floor and I’m good to go!
Thanks a bunch! Off to the airport now!

Well. Follow up, looks like my LH 471 YYZ > FRA Is delayed by an hour, so I will almost certainly miss my connection (even if I somehow make it, my bag definitely wont). Really ...... situation, I’ll be able to get LH1034 (instead of 1030), and I’ll have to call my car rental company to tell them I’ll be late I guess.

Transiting Frankfurt With a Tight Connection on Star Alliance
Later this month, my parents are flying Lufthansa (business class, fortunately) DFW-FRA and then FRA-TLL. They have a 65 minute connection in Frankfurt. Will this be enough time?
From what I can tell they will arrive and depart in A,B, or Z. It appears that you can stay inside security within these terminals. Is that correct? It looks like terminals A and Z are next to each other within the same security zone. And then it looks like there is a tunnel (walking, train, moving sidewalks?) from A/Z over to B.
I would greatly appreciate any insight into this transfer. Also, is it worth paying the 120 Euros for gate to gate service?

Your parents will arrive at Terminal A, or, possibly at a parking stand and be bussed. This can cause a delay. Then they need to go through a passport check. Another possibility for delay, particularly if arriving in the morning when so many other international flights arrive. Then they could depart out of A or B. B could could involve a bus ride.
65 minutes is tight. If they have any mobility issues, or difficulties (like unfamiliarity)moving through the process, 65 minutes can go very fast. That is why 90 minutes is the common recommendation for transit.
Have to say we did SFO-FRA-CPH in 40 minutes, with passport check and Terminal B bus ride. But we were late, absolutely no line in Immigration, and we have transited FRA probably a dozen times. We were in Business, and about the first off the plane at a gate...no parking away. We were the last on our CPH flight.

I'm not usually one to suggest spending any extra money, but given this scenario the gate to gate service might be a prudent investment. It will feel like a waste of money after the fact when everything goes smoothly, but if you don't do it and something goes wrong you'll really be kicking yourself!

FRA is very complicated for transfers & no guarantees on arrival & departing gates plus unessesary security for transit is a possibility.
If they have any mobility issues or are nervous about the connection paying for the transfer assistance is probably a wise move.

My JFK FRA flights usually land at the Z gates— once C
The DFW to FRA flight 439 departing on the 14th will arrive at Z19 on the 15th.
So much depends on the lines at passport control in terms of transfer times.
Many first time travelers find FRA confusing.
i think the transfer may be a good idea.

It is doable but, as others have pointed out, Frankfurt can throw a few spanners at you. You may be at a remote gate, you may have to go through transfer security. Immigration lines could be long. I suggest reading up on the connections thread, but I suspect that this might be a bit overwhelming for older people. Are they on one continuous ticket or two?
