I would usually try to avoid such a tight connection at FRA and chances to miss the connecting flight are indeed fairly high. Arriving from LOS, she kind of has to risk it, as there is only one direct flight to CTA a day. We probably cannot do much more than wish her luck.

Don't worry too much. Yes tight, but certainly doable. 1h05min is OK at FRA. Unless the inbound flight is seriously delayed she will make that connection, even if inbound arrives at C gate. It is pretty straight forward - just follow the signs.

I'll be arriving from EZE on LH511 in F and have a 8 hour layover. I booked the Porsche Excitement program two hours after arriving so that I could have a proper brunch at the FCL or FCT. I see LH511 usually arrives either at Z or B gates. What would be the smartest way of arranging the lounge visits to later get to the Avis counter? If the flight arrives at the Z then head to FCL A and if it arrives at B to the FCL B? Do I get a transfer to the Avis counter from the FCT?
thanks!

If she does miss her connection, what are her likely options? Given that there are no further Lufthansa flights to CTA that day, would Lufthansa consider putting her on another airline (e.g. Alitalia AZ413 connecting to AZ1701) or will she be stuck with a night stop?

If She misses her connection, she should insist on a reroute that gets her there ASAP & on other carriers, check your options out beforehand helps, She is in J

I have a couple of Frankfurt airport questions that are more, what would you do?
We have a 9 hour layover in Frankfurt (coming from the US, continuing to Rome), and since it's all on the same LH ticket, we'll be in Terminal 1. We were also planning to take the S-bahn to the Frankfurt Altstadt area for lunch and a bit of sightseeing. The airport website says there is construction on that line and service is disrupted. The website they provide for help is https://www.rmv.de/auskunft/bin/jp/query.exe/en , but I'm having trouble translating to English.
What's the best alternate way into Frankfurt, and what are other options for our layover?
Also, what are the lounges like? I have Priority Pass, and don't know whether to visit the Luxx Lounge in T1, but it's landside. Or use the Sky Train to get to T2 and visit the airside lounge.

The S-Bahn is still running between the airport and the main station (Hauptbahnhof) but only that far and only two trains per half hour. At Hauptbahnhof change onto underground service U4 or U5 for two stops and get off at Dom/Römer, then you'll be in the old town.

I am totally confused about transit in FRA. I often transit LHR-FRA-KRK
Going this way I always arrive at "B" non Schengen, and then have to clear security before making my way to "A" Schengen
This week I flew GLA-FRA-KRK
We arrived at "Z", as I do when I do JNB-FRA-KRK, but on this occasion we did not go up to the very top and clear security there. instead we come out into the departure area in Z and then straight down the stairs to passport control. No requirement to clear security.
Why the inconsistency? Does FRA trust security at GLA more than it trusts security at LHR?
I see the flight from GLA sometimes arrives at "B" and sometimes at "Z". Will this mean an inconsistent transit experience?

I believe it's because of the gate requirements overwhelming the A/Z pier (why sometimes B and sometimes Z), combined with the physical impossibility to separate pax properly in B (why dirty)

Hello scottishpoet and greetings from FRA, where I sit at this very minute.
In all my years of flying FRA is the airport I have used most by a long stretch...
... all I can say, as of today, is that the only easy transfer is Schengen:Schengen, because you are very likely to get A:A.
Anything else is usually very inconsistent to say the least - ghastliest experience I had was a transfer A38 to C14, which I would not wish upon anyone.

Does this make sense?
My husband and I are flying UA Polaris IAH - FRA with a 4:25 layover until our LH FRA - FCO flight. We get in too late for the arrivals lounge and unless by some miracle I am able to figure out how to upgrade our W fare FRA - FCO leg we won’t have a LH lounge to relax in. I’ve been told the Sky Lounge is decent, but does it make sense given where we are arriving/departing from in terms of time spent walking and in security to get there and back? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Some UK flights arrive at the AEUW bus gate, which also feeds into the Z departures area.

Maybe we will have more success meeting in FRA than we had at TXL

My recommendation would be to try to upgrade the FRA-FCO leg via MyOffer. I'd bid like 90-95 euros per person for the business upgrade. From my perspective, it would be worth it. Yes, continental European flights are no "real" business class seat-wise. But you'd get LH lounge access for your relatively long layover and the other business-class perks (gold track security, prio boarding, business-class in flight service, extra mileage earning etc.)

The Sky Lounge is not great. It's a hassle to get there for you guys, too.
