I will be flying ZRH to FRA which is scheduled to arrive at 09:10 and then a 10:55 FRA to BOS flight.
Are arrival times when the bus pulls up to the bus gate or when the aircraft stops at the remote stand ?
Thanks.

As a follow-up to my previous question about going Z to B non-Schengen via the tunnel to avoid going through security. It seems that most of the days, my UA flight arrives Z18/19/20 and the LH flight leaves B30/32 or B53/55 I'd appreciate if you could answer a couple of questions:
- From my arrival gate, do I walk to the stairs/elevators across Z11 to get to the A level to go through passport control into Schengen, and then walk to the elevator between A15 and A17 to go down to the tunnel?
- Can I take the elevator between Z15 and Z17 straight down to the tunnel?
- Should I instead just follow the signs to A from my arrival gate to go trough passport control, and once in A to follow the signs for B? Or would this take me to the sky train?

All US bound passengers are now supposed to have additional
"security" checks. I came through FRA this Saturday but I did
not have any additional questioning. There was a little kiosk at
the entrance of Z gates (just outside the Senator lounge) where
they were checking BP but no questioning...

The official route from Z to B non-Schengen is to take the Skyline train from Z to B and go through transfer security there. No need to clear passport control. You may know this already but B30/32 and B53/55 are bus gates.

Thanks. So any ideas where the elevators between Z15 and 17 go? They show up on the map, they seem to be right above the ones in A that go down to the tunnel.
Yeah, I know those are bus gates I hope at least my UA flight from ORD doesn’t get a bus gate.

I think you can go from A to Z via those elevators at certain times of the day (exit passport control once you are upstairs) but moving between A and Z (in either direction) is not my usual transfer route in FRA. I hope someone with experience can confirm.

IIRC there are 6 elevators between gates A15 and A17. Two on the left take you from A to the tunnel. Two on the right used to be for passengers going to C,D or E gates (via the Skyline train) and two in the middle connect(ed) A and Z. I know it was/is sometimes possible to go from A > Z using these elevators but I'm not sure if you can use them in the opposite direction.

My situation: SJO-PTY-FRA-BLR, all the way on Y.
Arrival at FRA 11:40am, departure to BLR 12:50pm. That's 1hr 10min (70 minutes) layover in FRA.
Is that a realistic connection time or not?

This said, it all depends on how critical the arrival time at BLR is for you. In the event of a misconnection, they'll probably put you on LH760 to DEL and get you from DEL to BLR on AI.

edit: I'd thought about where they would lead anyway re. passport control, and realized they can't be used as they are now, since they lead directly to outside Schengen. But there are some stairs and elevators right across from there, aren't there?

So I didn't pass round that part on Saturday, when I rather just went straight from the ASW to the A52 or what it was, but today (well, yesterday), I passed by them, and it's like you say. The middle two elevators were cordoned off on A level, so not useable at all.

I had a rather long connection at FRA today, arriving at A19 and departing from B12.
I went through the tunnel and passport control (but not through security) to get to the SEN lounge next to gate B42 because they make fresh decaf cappuccinos (I have only been at FRA a few times, but learned this much).
I asked the lounge agent if gate B12 was far away and if I would have to go through security again: “No, not at all, it’s just on the other side of the food court, there’s no security control” - and she pointed back to where I had just come from.
Anyway, after some time in the lounge, I try to walk to my gate. Unfortunately I followed the signs, which led me up to the second floor - and then out of the security area. So of course I had to go through security again, and there were loooooong lines and no fast track (I ended up finding proper B security, where they did have a fast track in the end).
But I am wondering, was what the lady told me just wrong?
Or could I have walked from B42 to B12 without going through security, only going through passport control?
