Hi guys!
Tomorrow I am going to have SFO->FRA->DME flight and I'm kinda nervous.
estimated arrival time of first flight is 11:15, while boarding time for the second one is 11:50 and departure 12:20. Both flight are operated by lufthansa (and i bought both as single ticket).
BU
It seems like first flight is likely to be late o_O like today it was delayed for 2 hours. sometimes it is late for 20 minutes.
is there any possibility that both me and my luggage will be able to make it, given that arriving is to Z and departure from B and I don't have Schengen visa? and what is the most optimal route for me, taking a train?
it is going to be my first-ever connection in FRA..

Hello all,
I'm trying to decide if I want to change my travel plans to Ireland next year. I'm considering a change to my return which would be DUB-FRA-DTW, flying Lufthansa J with a 1:15 layover in FRA. I'm having a hard time understanding the chart in the wiki, so I'm not sure if 1:15 is enough time for a couple of rookies in FRA. It seems like we won't need to deal with passport control/immigration, but probably some security checks? The inbound would be LH983 and out is LH442. It would be a Friday morning around 9am. Thanks for any advice. This would be an option available to extend out stay a couple more days. Scheduled to come back DUB-ORD on EI in J. LH in J sounds probably better?
Thanks,
Mike

It you take DUB-FRA-DTW you absolutely will have to go through passport control - it's right there before you enter the Z gates (where most US-bound flights depart from).

Your quoted rationale really makes little sense. EI business is perfectly fine. Lie-Flat seats. Why would you trade DUB-ORD non-stop (and a later departure time) with pre-clearance in Dublin that makes your arrival in Chicago into a domestic one for a short connection DUB-FRA-DTW? Starting from DUB on LH means your flight departs at the ungodly hour of 0545 from Terminal 1.

Thanks for the info guys, you make plenty of sense. Our final destination is DEN, so either works. There is a similar EI award returning via IAD that would also suit if we want to extend a couple of days.

Browsed a bit for an answer but would feel more comfortable posing the question myself.
Flying from MRS-NYC on the 13th this month in LH F and have 2 options:
1 - connect through MUC or
2 - connect through FRA but with a 45 min connection.
I prefer to connect in FRA bc the plane is a 747 (which I have yet to fly), but am worried this connection time is too short. I'm an American Passport holder if that changes anything. Is the 45 min connection too tight?

if your incoming flight is on time, you will be picked up from an apron position and driven to the terminal (suggest to ask drop off at B, go through passport control at B and then take a car from FCL B to your connecting flight). If your MRS flight is at a gate you will have to walk to the connecting flight yourself, going through immigration between A and Z (or running through the tunnel to B...) If you have a 10-15 minute delay, LH may provide a gate to gate transfer via a special passport control. If your incoming MRS is delayed such that you wouldn’t make the connection anymore, LH would rebook on the first available flight.
MUC will give you more time in the lounge and less stress but, as you say, not the B748. I’d take this option as it is less stressful, all else being equal.

45 Minutes in FRA is very tight but LH sell it so possible. It leaves no time to spend in the excellent F lounges but as you will be flying F, LH will do everything for you to make your connection.

You may also want to consider Mainz rather than Frankfurt for a visit.

Hi,
i am leaving soon from Z gates on a IA flight bound to Chicago. After checking in though I would like to check out the Air Canada lounge in the B Pier, as I heard it's very nice. Question: can I do that? If so, do I have to go through security again after leaving the lounge to get to concourse Z?

For the long answer check this post. If you are not departing from a non-Schengen B gate you have to re-clear security after leaving the Air Canada lounge.

My parents are flying CDG-FRA-JFK with LH on the CDG-FRA leg connecting to the SQ FRA-JFK flight. The ticket was booked as an AC award as one ticket.
1) Their current connection time is 70 minutes. Is that feasible for two people in their mid-sixties who walk comfortably but who don't sprint from place to place?
2) If they don't make the flight, should they go to the LH desk? The SQ desk? The AC desk?
