What sort of security screening do we get between exiting the FCT lounge (I hope we still get the limo ride) and getting on board the aircraft?
The sleazy liquids ban came since the last time I was in the FCT lounge.

The paranoia check aka liquid ban control happens just upon entry to the FCT.

(Since it's evident that the FCT is in contact with the gate agents, I'm assuming they've never screwed up and caused a couple carloads of F pax to miss a flight. Both coming and going, I was among the last few people to board my flight and then we immediately departed.)

I would agree, they never let pax miss the flight. But the timing is not always as perfect as you describe it. Having a limited number of cars and a limited number of drivers and not knowing, whether the last normal pax' will arrive on time. It can very well be, that you get to the plane earlier and still experience some ground time before departure. IMHO, not too bad with a Glas of Champagne in one hand and e few Macadamias in the other hand sitting in 83A or around.

F Lounge logistics in FRA
I've read about 25 pages of the thread so far. Very useful stuff! I have a few questions about two upcoming trips via FRA, an airport I don't know very well. Any help would be appreciated.
================================================== ====
TRIP #1.
IAD>FRA LH F
FRA>MAD JK C
MAD>FRA LH C
FRA>IAD LH F
I've only been to one LH F lounge in Frankfurt and I think it was way down at the end of T1 A section. It was near an LHR departure gate, if those flights tend to leave from the same area.
Q1: Does anyone have a link to a map of FRA airport where all of these lounges are shown or know the adjacent gates for reference? I can't tell from the airport authority's map. I'd like to have an idea so I know where to head to on future trips.
From what I understand reading the posts, on the IAD>FRA>MAD portion, I will not get access to LH F Terminal because I'm leaving on JK. No problem.
Q2: Can I go immediately from the IAD>FRA airplane to one of the T1 FC lounges and just hang out for a few hours, bypassing security? Or do I have to go through passport control, collect and recheck bags for the MAD flight, go back through security and then head to the nearest F lounge for the JK flight? And do JK flights for MAD actually have any LH F lounge nearby?
Q2a: Do the sleeping rooms tend to fill up in the T1 or FT lounges? Anyone had the experience of wanting to get one and they were all occupied?
On the return, I'm arriving on LH C with several hours before the LH F flight to IAD. I believe for this one I can ask for a car to the LH F Terminal (or just walk, which I'll probably do), hang out in the F Terminal for a while and then ask for the car for the IAD flight.
Q3: All true for the return flight?
================================================== ====
TRIP #2
LHR>FRA LH C
FRA>TLV LH F
TLV>FRA LH F
FRA>GVA LH C
GVA>LCY LX C
Q4: For this one, I think LH F Terminal is fine on the outbound, but on the return can I go to the F Terminal for the FRA>GVA flight or just hang around in T1 (if that's where it is) at one of the LH F lounges?
Q5: Is there a decent LX lounge in GVA for the flight to LCY?
Q6: What's the LH lounge like in LHR T2?
Thanks again!

1) Correct, but you can use FCL as an arriving LH F pax.
2) You can tag bags through to MAD. The MAD flight leaves from schengen area of airport thus immigration control is unavoidable. Depending on which gates they use you might use FCL before or after this.
3) Yes. Ask for car transfer at F check in area (far left hand end 1 level up from baggage claim), or walk.
4) Yes FCT assuming long enough connection time, both ways.
6) Very average and overcrowded

Many thanks, Kiwi! Can I put a few more questions to you about this?
[QUOTE=Kiwi Flyer;8523518]1) Correct, but you can use FCL as an arriving LH F pax.
QUESTIONS: In order to use a FCL as an arrivals area, I would need to go through immigration/customs in FRA and head back through to security to return airside and then find the most convenient location. True? And are all the FCL lounges pretty much the same or would you recommend one over the others? Do you happen to know where they all are in T1? And the sleeping room question...I used one once and definitely want to rest in one but do you know if they tend to be full in the mornings?
2) You can tag bags through to MAD. The MAD flight leaves from schengen area of airport thus immigration control is unavoidable. Depending on which gates they use you might use FCL before or after this.
QUESTION: Do you know if all of these arrivals and departures are happening in T1? There's a FCL in every section of the terminal or is it possible to get stuck in an area where there is no FCL and no way to get to one?
Cheers,
Matthew_DC

Depends on which FCL you use (and which gate your inbound flight arrives at). In some cases no need to clear immigration or security, and in others you would. All FCLs are airside, but in different parts of the terminal.

Thanks. I found the lounge location info on lufthansa.com:
#1: First Class Lounge, Frankfurt/Main International, Terminal 1, gate area B, on level 3 at the end of the catering row and behind the casino (Non-Schengen).
#2: First Class Lounge, Frankfurt/Main International, Terminal B, nearby gate B24
#3: First Class Lounge, Frankfurt/Main International, Terminal A, escalator nearby gate A26
I'll have plenty of time during the connections to look around and find the right one.
I want to plan better this time because the only other time I visited one of their F lounges in FRA, it was totally by accident (being a LH newbie). I had heard that they were very nice and got off the IAD>FRA flight and saw a sign for a LH lounge and walked in, not paying attention to what type of lounge it was. This was before immigration. It looked like a RCC and was packed. I wondered why anyone would have raved about it and figured there had been some exaggeration about how great LH FRA F lounges are. I left quickly, went into the city center, toured a bit and came back for a FRA>LHR>JNB flight.
I passed the same lounge again and figured it was better than nothing and so I tried to enter. The gatekeeper said it was full, looked at my BPs (I still had the F IAD>FRA one) and said there was another lounge down at the end of A which was more spacious. I figured, okay, I'll go for a walk and if full I'll sit wherever. I finally found it and I was shocked at the contrast. AHHHHHHHHHHH, so this is what everyone was talking about. Had a great 1.5 hours and could have kicked myself for not researching it better before the trip. Now I know about flyertalk, so this won't happen again!

regarding your GVA question - lounge is so-so, and can be crowded - there's only one combined lounge at the moment for everyone. ok drink selection and some very basic snacks (peanuts, crackers). sometimes, some fruit, croissants or sandwiches. There's a first class section at the back on the left hand side which is just marginally better - you could try to bluff your way in on the basis of your F arrival in FRA

Entry to FCT / FCL for partner & child
As far as I know you can take your partner & child to the FCL / FCT with you
when they travel in another class as long as they are on the same flight.
Does this flight need to be under the same flight number?
I have booked a reward First ticket (Flight LH 454) - my wife is booked in C (Flight UA 8829 - which was about € 200 cheaper than with LH-number).
Its the same flight but with different flight numbers.
Any experience with that "problem"?

So, let's see. You got yourself booked an F award and as the gentleman you are, you got your future ex-wife booking a paid C ticket.
