I have flown quite a few times out of SFO as a HON circle member- not sure there is a pre-pre boarding or at least I have never witnessed it.
You are in F.
I would board last.
Ask the gate to call the IFL when they want you to come to the gate (again, last).
It is more comfortable in the lounge.
Boarding at SFO used to take ~30-45 minutes for this flight- probably longer now that there is the "Ladybee".

For Pre-Pre Boarding you will be picked up in the IFL. But as TRAVELSIG wrote, stay in the lounge and board with the last. You will be on board long enough.

When you ask at the gate, they will let you pass to the small area after checking the BP and then you can board from there first. I did it twice and it worked perfecty, if you like to board first.

It's the same at LAX. You can request pre-boarding and they will pick you up earlier at the *A lounge.
However, it's very messy as they need to fight through the line.
Better to wait a bit longer and board last.

As Rambuster mentioned, boarding early is quite messy as there are a lot of people there already, and it seems that everyone is either F/C or has some status that they want to use to board first.

FTLs were pushing me to get by ahead of me... SFO-MUC departs quite late, most if not all stores are closed and everyone is eager to get onboard. Pre-preboarding might be the way, or board last.

I don't understand this pre-boarding nonsense. As a frequent flyer, I wanna be as late as the airport as possible and want them to close the door once I am on board. No point in looking at the interior for 30 minutes that I should be very familiar with already...

Just for info:
The friendly ladies at DXB in the yellow dresses (see opening post) who take you from the gate to the immigration can be booked by anybody through the internet. It is called the "Merhaba Meet and Greet Service". Costs a few Dirhams, depending on the service level that you want.

For me it depends on the route. I absolutely agree with you, I also try to board last, especially when flying in C or F on long haul flights.

What I hate is boarding late on short haul and having no space left for hand luggage or having to wait for ages in a queue on the jetway.

I hate waiting forever on the jetway, period. Unfortunately the GAs often make a fuss about the last call even when the jetway still is completely congested, so unless you want to spend another 30 minutes on the plane there's hardly a way around it.

I agree. ^
I hate the "hurry up, hurry up, it's the last call" herding and then getting stuck on the jetway or waiting another 15 minutes on board until the boarding finally completes.

From that perspective, I would love to see HON services being organized around getting me on board as late as possible. I am sure it is possible to coordinate, especially when you are driven from the FCT. Currently, I have to ask for that and sometimes it works... They are getting pretty good at it in WAW for LO flights - they come to collect me from the lounge once the last bus is out. I would love the same happening in FRA and MUC.
If that means that they sometimes have to wait for me a minute or two, so be it. They are waiting for a lot of pax everyday any way... So they can do that for their best customers...

I think it depends on the airport, at EZE you have to arrive there in sufficient time to get through the security lines & immigration, something the HON service is powerless to help you with, personally i do not want to spend a nanosecond longer than necessary in the RCC, so pre-boarding IMHO is the best option & one thing the HON circle service in EZE can manage

but a consequence of being last is often no or limited overhead bin space. That drives me nuts, so I'd rather be on and settled before the crowds arrive.

On short haul I prefer to board 1st ( and an a or f seat in order not to get hit by the super size backpacks during boarding ). The main problem is is infact missing space in the overhead bins. Y Pax (expecially form the consultant community ) seem to dump their stuff into the C bins and continue their way to the back.

The worst thing I have seen recently on a BIX-ZRH leg was a huge duffelbag, which as dumped into row 2 on seats d, e and f. The guy was seated in row 20 and complained when he saw that the crew wanted to offload it.

PS: I am all pro for a size limitation of hand luggage and a total ban of backpacks in the cabin

Landed in SFO out of LX 38 yesterday. Huge lines at immigration. We were however escorted through the so called "immigrat line". It all went very smoothly.
